AW Order

Note: All this is generalized there are some steps you may want to skipped based on your playstyle(Will be marked with *). Specific units will be given alternate options. Finally there will be two sections. The first you should do. The second if for those of you who want to follow a guide further then that.

~~~~~~~~~
Gold Gen*
Recommended
http://image01.seesaawiki.jp/a/s/aigis/6da05b2385d87c20.png
Generally this will always be Betty. However, some of you may not wish to run maps like you did pre-commission. So you can skip this step. If we happen to get the Feng Shui User Mia or Bishop Noel they would replace Betty here if you were going to previously skip this step.
Aria
Recommended
http://image02.seesaawiki.jp/a/s/aigis/626601e8c9121713.png
You want to AW Aria here. There really isn't an alternate choice for exactly why she was picked, but Julian could substitute her to some extent.
+2% attack AW passive, min-cost due to being an event unit (or should be), ridiculously nice stats for 10 cost, after AW skill (As 2nd soldier, it's suggested to AW her skill, but not as your first soldier due to nerf to deployment point gathering) breaking 1k attack easily despite being early deploy. Only Jerome is better in overall usefulness soldier wise.
Min-cost Aria is pretty much the #1 most useful/must have event unit in this game.
Healer
Recommended
http://image02.seesaawiki.jp/a/s/aigis/973950dffa853c6f.png or http://image02.seesaawiki.jp/a/s/aigis/1b060ae98e22b337.png
While Iris/Camilla is not the 100% awaken this healer first unit like Betty is for gold gen. She does have a nice little passive. The burst healing on her placement would open up a few more strategies. As risky as they are. The reason Liana were not picked despite having that same burst healing on placement is because she cost quite a bit more.
Ace (Duelist)
There is no recommendation here because there are farm to many options that are completely based on what units you have. Pretty much AW your primary boss fighter.
DPS (Ranged)
Recommended
http://image01.seesaawiki.jp/a/s/aigis/774a3d7c7096e21a.png
Generally I see Spica most often being mentioned to AW first for this slot. However, don't let that sway your choice. It is your primary ranged slot DPS unit you want to AW here.
Resource % up
At the point you want to AW everything that will increase the amount/drop rate of Gold, Fairies, Demon Crystals, Affection Items, Trust Items, and any other drop I am forgetting. The sooner the better.
~~~~~~~~~

General Stat % Up
Name pretty much says it. You want to AW any unit that will increase the stats of all your other units by being in their team.

Rarity Stat % Up*
A little more narrow then the previous group. You can skill this if you don't use a ton of that rarity. The only unit I can think of off the top of my head that does this is Sherry who increases the stats of gold units.

Class stat % Up*
Self-explanatory. If you don't use multiple of a single class often skip that class. Ex. You only ever use one Valkyrie at a time, don't prioritize a unit that increase Valkyrie attack by 7% over say Belinda who increases all witches attack by 7%(cause uses multiple witches is often a thing).

Hmm...admittedly I still don't like the term 'focus' that much. and Olivie's skill AW you forgot to add WT and CT.
btw, some units like Hina still doesnt have skill AW?

edit: also, was despara's aoe attack AW ability or was it skill AW? because I thought it was skill AW ;o might be wrong though and I'm too lazy to check

Of the classes that we have. The ones that do not have AW skill outside of the black rarity are...
Ninja
Avenger
Mage
Witch
Shaman
Feng Shui User

As for Despara's AoE on AW Skill... I didn't notice that from the video nor is it noted in either of the wikis. She just has an incredibly fast attack speed.

It is basically a last resort skill. For a skill massive attack at his maximum. He hits everything within 360 range of himself for 2499 physical damage. This comes at the cost of around 3 seconds later taking 90% of his current health as damage.

Note that Rachel's range with skill active who can hit the entire map is 536.

do you have a list of awakened passives for units as well? Since we got to awaken units first before skill awakening, i think most people will be interested in the passives prior to choosing their unit. (since you are doing awaken skills, might be good to be comprehensive =P)

At that point I would have to right down stats as well. I'm far to lazy for that :p.... but maybe

Yes if you go the effort of collecting the materials for skill AW again just to convert back. any time you want to switch skills, you need to incur the cost of skill AW-ing the unit. which is tons of gold, skill AW fairy, AW orbs etc.

Who is better to use for Gold Get?
Betty or Lyla?

Tenhou
01-05-2016, 05:23 PM
Use both! It is an ability to get gold when they kill stuff so the more of them you have the better, less units that pass through their grasp.

If you really only have time for one though, Lyla is my answer.

I think I have enough time for both. My Betty is already at 50cc50, so I just need to drag Lyla up from 1 to max level.

So is it really worth it to max Betty just for the gold farm? I get the feeling that it would take forever to just make your money back from leveling her up.

I've been experimenting with finding missions that Betty can solo as a front line.

Consider this: Since you need CC'd silver units to awaken units, you could place Betty to solo the goblins and wolves that spawn during those waves while farming Silver Fairies.
Dragon Hunting can have Betty hold the front really easily, supported by an archer/witch in a corner to handle Dragons and deal with anything that filters pass Betty

It'll be a while, but pretty much whenever you're farming, find if you can throw Betty in an area where lots of little guys are passing through.

Having not played DMM, I can't answer if it's worth it or not, but it might add up. I should hope.

Yeah, I'm skeptical. It costs hundreds of thousands of gold just to 50cc60 a gold unit. On top of that, add the cost to awaken her and you have a massive amount of gold to recuperate before you can even begin to see a benefit.

Betty's Gold Get is also affected by 2/3 starting a map, so each unit she kills can potentially be worth 150 gold.

Want more reason why awakening her and the other gold get units is a good idea? Here's a video of AW Patra (plt bishop) and AW Lyra farming the extreme tier Monday daily map - the next map up from the H map we currently have.

http://sp.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm27551197

The normal gold reward for 1* on that map is 10,000 gold before gold get and any gold armors you sell.

Edit: Full disclosure, the other units are providing the following buffs in that video:
Aria - 2% attack power
Conrad - 5% attack power to Lyra
Kagura - 5% attack power
The Feng Shui user - increases mission gold reward 50%. Doesn't stack with Gold Get or Noel's Cane of Fertility passive

actually skill AW shouldnt affect your priority for now, because we won't get skill AW soon. so AW order should primarily focus on stats and AW ability only. Odette's AW ability only adds 10 MR which is largely useless, but the increase in attack would be great if you can get her to AW50+, especially if you're using her as primary mage.

with regards to AW, just make sure you can get them to AW20~30 asap if you AW them, otherwise their stats will be lower than pre-AW, disregarding any potential bonus from their AW ability.

In the english version, awakening can be misleading. Because they call it ability awakening and skill awakening

The typical awakening we know of that changes the symbol from "the red arrow" to "bigger blue circle" is the ABILITY AWAKENING.
That one is available to all classes. (assuming nutaku takes it from the current dmm) Mages, witches and ninjas included.

Skill awakening is when a units ALREADY awakened and has 5/5 or 10/10 in other words maxed skill. Then you get change their skill to do something that is usually better. normal dmg -> true dmg or just something totally whacky. But for now, you can ignore skill awakening. Its something you want to put resources in only after awakening most of your units, although some skill awakenings are pretty meh.

I never get what is awakening at all and you confused me even more. They say awakening is 2nd cc, regarding to this an awakened 1 level gold unit is better than 50cc60 one is it true? And now u are saying skill and ability awakening... I dont know japanese and wiki has limited information about aw stuff, this thread only shows aw skills and abilities. Anyway a game gets only better when reaching endgame stuff gets harder which means more rewarding at the end.

Kotono

Awakening and skill awakening are two different things.
I'm fairly certain that awakening a unit actually reduces the stats below what they were, but also resets the level to 1 and increases the level cap once again. I'm uncertain as to how many levels will be required for a unit to regain the lost stats, but you also must understand that they sometimes gain additional passive abilities.

with regards to the bolded part, no (or actually, it depends). Note that units will decrease some stats on AW-ing, but some abilities like +7% archer attack (Spica) and increase def buff (Deine) may offset it.
like buttlover and kotono said, there are 2 Awakenings. I prefer to call them Unit Awakening and Skill Awakening.
Unit Awakening = unlock/upgrade unit ability + decrease some stats but increasing max stats (AW20~30 to reach 50cc60 stats I believe)

Skill Awakening = upgraded skill. you can ignore this portion entirely for now, we will not expect to get it within a year from now.

Maybe even an overview of that Skill Awakening fairy daily despite that being waay in the future? I heard it only lets Awakened units in, so a minimal list of units needed to consistently 3* such map could be a good addition for planning which units to awaken...

skill AW is not likely to be implemented that quickly, so no worries on that. you can assume you need to AW your usual core team to be able to clear skill AW fairy map. the exception to your core team is heavy armor, because you generally don't want to be tanking anything on that map. (for grunts that need tanking, soldiers are generally enough. everything else you best pray you have enough ranged dps to take them out, as well as duelists to actually soak some dmg and take out the bosses, because there's AW saki, sybilla, deine and aisha that you have to handle)

This is likely the wrong section to be asking and someone probably addressed it somewhere but after looking for quite some time, I'm just gonna take the direct approach (with any flak that comes from not trying harder to find the answer).

I was trying to AW Katie (don't question/criticize why, was just a matter of "wanted to try") so I maxed her affection and level, got an awakening fairy, got my Soldier Chief orb ready, and figured I could just test my old Phyllis and use my old Harissa (still working on the barbarian part).

Problem is, even though I managed to prep my awakening fairy just fine, both Phyllis and Harissa are greyed out when I try to select them to their respective slots. Phyllis, I'd understand since she's organized into one of my parties but Harissa isn't, and for that matter it's the same for the non-cc'd gold rogue types I have.

I'm wondering if there's any specific condition pertaining to obtainable stats such as level or affection that could effectively disqualify a silver/gold unit from being used as AW material. I have to wonder if I missed anything or unintentionally made it so that I wouldn't be able to fodder them at this point.

^Right when I finished writing this post, I looked at my unit list and realized my own derpage: I locked both silvers and my gold rogues so naturally if I appeared to have no intention to consume them for anything, the system wouldn't let me AW fodder them.

Seeing as I've already gone this far, I may as well ask anyways and then put up the light warning that if you plan to use your old units for AW fodder, consider if they're in locked status to avoid having the same confusion and derpage I went through.

that is however based on the assumption that a skill doesn't activate until a unit is placed and that dropping her on the field reduces all benched units cost by 1

That is exactly what it says Sora. It reduces all proximity units cost by 1. Saying Melee wouldn't really equate to Assist units like a ninja or magic swordsman that attack from ranged while in a proximity slot (yay correct terminology!). It could potentially lead to confusion. Granted I could say melee-slot unit, but that doesn't sound as nice.

So I have had like 15 rainbow fairies for months now and I want to get rid of them. I know skill awakening is not happening anytime soon but I want to plan ahead.

Iris seems like a sure thing to skill up for skill awakening and she is my best healer.

Thetis seems like she could be interesting but the double unit point is only active when the skill is active.

Spica's skill awakening seems like it would be really nice. Mage/archer hybrid.

I have seen a fully awakened Liddy and she destroys maps. I have not really used her much but I was thinking of skilling her up so she will be ready when the time comes.

Despara is my only black and her skill awakening turns her into a fast attacking short ranged mage. Does anyone have any experience with that? Is it better than just more damage output from her overall?

Hoping to get some input. Is there a sure thing? Any thoughts?

Considering Sybilla's AW makes her skill use attacks ranged, is there any real reason to AW her skill? Attack multiplier goes up slightly but you lose the instant kill chance (not really the point though it's nice when it proc's). not sure what her range is without Skill AW, but at the very least it seems there are skills that are clearly better than non-AW (like Marr, Gellius, Olivie, Aisha and Berna, Farne, etc. among others)

lolix
07-29-2016, 12:36 PM
you mean besides the fact that she hits like a truck at range with magic attacks that aren't reduced in power (like a magic fencer's ranged attack is) ?

just noticed how her sword is named. Fragarach or The answerer appeared in both Baldur's gate 2(tob) and in temple of elemental evil. In both it was a +4 enchanted long sword (i think it was a bastard sword in ToEV if my memory serves me right)

that makes her more awsome from the start

ZeroZet

Just by Awakening, Sybilla gains range 200 x1.5 powered magic slash on skill (that can instakill). Skill Awakening trades the instakill portion (and 5 seconds more in skill cooldown) for 280 range and x1.7 multiplier.

Dunno, I think she's good as she is, with less need to prioritize SAW. Better spend the resources on clear upgrades first.

lolix
07-29-2016, 02:39 PM
clear upgrades ? That doesn't look like a clear upgrade ?

Let's take nanaly far example , since her skill is one of the more visible. She gets 5 arrows instead of 4. That means that her skill awakening gives her extra 25% damage over her regular skill.

Now we have sybilla with 70% instead of 50% to damage during skill duration. That's a 40% increase in damage efficiency over her regular skill

Also 280 range is literally an extra archer....that will hit over 1.5k with magic damage. Hell , a normal archer has 260 range if i recall , so she gets more range then that. The only archers that outrange her are spica during skill , soma during skill , nanaly after awakening (by 10 range) and stray i think , since he gains like 60 god damn range after awakening.

Edit : forgot lauren during skill

clear upgrades ?

Like i said, was not sure what her range is without Skill AW, but since you brought up archer ranges... damn, that IS insane lol. Longer range than most archers, while hitting for magic damage and 70% Attack up? That IS a clear upgrade lol.

That said, I think there are higher priorities, since her damage is already huge and certain others benefit more (even though it's not reliable, she DOES lose SOMETHING (1HKO potential), while say, Olivie gains attack speed boost while keeping the 100% dodge rate). It does increase her utility since she can be used for high powered, if limited duration, ranged attacks in addition to her traditional roles as duelist and lightning rod.

maths is not 70/50 = 40% increase

maths is 1.7/1.5 = 13.333% increase

but extra range make more tactical option

if you re-read what i said , you would realize i was talking about skill efficiency , not pure damage increase. Going from 50% to 70% is an increase in efficiency of 40%.

We were debating how efficient SAW skill were over normal ones.

Guys.
Tactics with Sybillia has changed now with the latest class and units Rebalance Patch in DMM...
Skill Aw her is the top most priority
(ofc after Aisha)

Why you ask?
fufu..
because..
Sybillia turns into a true monster after skill aw

280 Range.
Range attack from mellee position.
Stunning ...2k attack.

And yes...TRUE DAMAGE during SKILL USE...
She can shamlessly swipe down any monster in her range.

tho this is in dmm version which is ages ahead of us...will wait for this patch to come to us...someday.

i'm sorry , but didn't i said pretty much the same thing ?

Well except true damage. Didn't knew that they gave her true damage. That is indeed very very good.

What do u think about Spicas SAW? Im kinda devided. Sure having 20% more atk (20% less then befor) and turning attack to magic damage which eliminates biggest weakness of archers (high armor targets), but dont u have other units for that anyways? Witches, Mages, Princesses, niche units. She looses out on her trademark of 20% more range on 20% extra damage (which only hurts to lose against low armor targets but thats what u use archers for anyways) and the biggest down her near infite 90 sec skill duration turns to 30 secs. Idk if thats worth it.

it is a bit more situational then sybilla's of course , but I can definetly see the advantage of magic attacks since she will still hit pretty damn hard while having archer attack speed. That means she melts individual targets with low mr , regardless of their armor , way faster then witches or mages , while really losing some damage vs very low armored units.

On the other hand , she loses range and duration. The very long duration combined with a range bonus made her more flexible to deploy because you could put her on a farther spot and rely on the very long skill duration to hit stuff.

In the end i believe the skill awakening is probably better then the regular skill , but keep in mind that SAWs are not always made to simply be an upgrade. Sometimes they are made to be a sidegrade.....to offer the player a new option. That means that at times a SAW can be less valuable then the regular skill of a unit. Take clissa for example : her normal skill heals her for 70%. Her SAW increases attack and defense instead and gives her regen. Both things are good to have , and i do like her SAW a lot more , but instant heal can be really damn good on a duelist as well.

Spica's SAW is soooo not worth it. You lose range and more importantly duration to make her faster non-slowing witch. Just drop an actual witch should you need magic damage, and with additional slow going to offsed the speed)

But beauty of TP units like Spica is you can easily have two of them, one with regular skill, and another with SAW should you want to test it our :p

even with the slows , spica would massively outdps any witch outside of AW/SAW despara maybe because her aw passive gives her attack sped and her saw gives her even more attacks speed , besides extra damage.

Other then that , spica attacks twice as fast as most witches.

There is a unit type we don't have that changes physical attackers to deal magic damage during skill use within range

Yeah, my team already has impressive magic damage, but even so I still lust at the idea of pairing that unit with Elizabeth or SAW Monica.

That class is called an 'Enchanter'...we have two of them at present on dmm both, i beleive, were released at some point of time this year...
During 30 sec skill use they turn all the physical attacks within range to magical attacks.
Further on AW they can summon a very powerfull Token: Guardian Golem.
the token costs 50 UP...
has a VERY high stats and is single block.

Imagine using enchanters with Skill Aw Nanaly...* I cant stop laughing! *

are both premium or any of them is a event unit ?

Too bad both are premium...one is plat other is gold..
the gold one gets spotlight once in a while while plat one rarely does.

We dont have a black one yet and when we do....
*laughing again...(instant deploy and skill use) *

After you bought it from Trading Post, it will be placed into your main Barracks.

so some of the one units i noticed get to use their skills only once per sortie, does the skill change to the pre-awakened one after usage or do you just get hosed on not being able any skills at all after the one use per mission?

lolix

as far as i know , no. Once you awaken their skills , they pretty much get a new skill. Which is why some people recomanded having 2 of some units (most notably anya) , since their normal skill and AW skill makes them into 2 different units.

For example normal skill anya is a high end tank. AW skill anya is a dps unit (SAW doubles her damage , and she attacks everything in a 120 range around her)

That's kinda what I was afraid of, one more question if you know the answer please. Will it reset you skill level then to?

Only a (relatively) small number of units have awakened skills that can only be used once per sortie. Of those a number specifically note that they change to the normal version of the skill after use. The ones that specify a limited number of uses and no not state that they change back to the unawakened skill will leave the unit without a skill after all the uses are used up.

Awakened skills do not have levels. You need the skill at max level before you can awaken it, but there is no leveling it after. You can redo the cost of awakening a skill to change it back as well, and from my understanding it changes back into a max level version of the skill.
