So, I was thinking about trying Aigis again after finishing exams season (lol free time ftw), but just wanted to know your opinion guys about starting Aigis at this point.

Since I had serious browser freezing issues with Aigis, I have absolutely no idea about how advanced Aigi's metagame currently is (just made it to the firt part of the tutorial during previous attempts, dropped the first soldier and got the game freezing), nor its time-demanding level, so your opinion would be really appreciated.

Also, recommended system/browser settings to run this game are also welcome.

...yeah, kinda weird to ask for requirements for a browser game in 2015, but somehow I have problems with Aigis which I don't have with LoV nor PPS.

time-demanding level
Aigis is a non-competitive game. Completely single player. You can take it entirely at your own pace, or you can try and keep up with events. Which right now is very easy to do.
At first, you can sit and play quite a bit, but once you start gaining levels, you get more time to sit and wait for char to regenerate.

recommended system/browser
I play in chrome. I don't freeze or crash ever, but it does slowdown a bit outside of maps. Disable hardware acceleration if you are having too much issues. I've also played in Opera, which is much smoother - but recently both in and out of maps, I've been occasionally unable to select anything, or place units. As if it wasn't registering my clicks.

Whatever you do, do not use firefox. Nutaku say they support Chrome and Chrome only. However, my better success with Opera makes me wonder what kind of support they really give Chrome, so i'd recommend Opera. As Kotono said, disable hardware acceleration, it was a cause of lag for me for a long while til i figured it out.

I'd recommend reading the beginner guide at the wiki Beginner Guide - Millennium War Aigis Wiki (http://millenniumwaraigis.wikia.com/wiki/Beginner_Guide) it has some "do not do this unless you want to be crippled" stuff in it from different experienced players, and i recently overhauled it to make it more easy to read.

That's odd because I use internet explorer when I'm on my laptop and it runs considerably smoother than chrome on my pc. Could just be that my laptop is faster because it doesn't have as many things on it though. I can confirm that IE (11) does work pretty nice. Also is anyone else getting an error when trying to play?

Last time I tried on IE, the game crashed almost immediately when I started the map.

Thanks for your answers!

I was avoiding using Chrome for Nutaku stuff 'cause it's my main browser and from time to time I need to show web-based stuff to others for studies/work reasons, so I'm actually using IE11 'cause I don't need to use it for serious stuff, and the few times other people gets to use my laptop, nobody even try to use IE xDDD lol
It's a safe bet, also LoV and PPS runs really fine. Only having issues with Aigis, but reading CSocktaters's answer made me think that maybe my laptop just can't handle that game with IE, so I'll try with Chrome or Opera as Kotono and Tenhou suggested.

By the way, it's good to know that Aigis isn't a competitive game. I was worried about missing unique stuff from events and rankings. PPS is quite demanding in that sense, so I'll read those Aigis guides and as soon as I finish my exams season, I'll join u guys at Aigis :)

Chrome and Opera use the same engine, so kinda makes sense that the game runs good in both, but with different performances.

Welcome to the fold!

The only things you really have missed are event units from previous events because you started out late. However, there will supposedly be revival events later so you can get them, one way or another. And the event units are really only missed if you cannot complete the event. That said, events usually have something that low level players can do to get the event units. I started right in the middle of the Dragon Shaman event and i still managed to get her since i could clear a few of the maps after power leveling. The only difference being that i could not get the other objectives like reducing her deployment cost and increasing her skill level.
The other events seem to have followed something similar. You can usually get the units and they are nice to have, but you cannot get them at their best unless you are high level. Not something to cry over, though, they are still awesome :D

They use the same engine, however Chrome uses a special Google-developed version of Flash that isn't used in any other browser.

Aaaaaaaand exams season is over! yey! xD

Just tried Aigis with Opera and following your advices, and the game runs like wonders. Curious thing that PPS isn't working, but at least now I can play Aigis.

See u there, then! ^.^

How's the early stages treating you now that you can successfully play?

Pretty nice so far, honestly. :3 I've been following guides and advices and everything seems fine.
I have some questions I'd like to ask about, but I'll keep reading some more before asking something that is likely to be already answered.
Let's see what happens ^.^

Feel free to ask regardless, sometimes it can take time to find. The wiki guide i linked should have most things you need.

I recommend checking the rank rewards by the way. At some point you get a platinum rogue so most other rogues won't be too important to level up. And at lvl 101 and some other levels you will get +1 stamina, and thus refill your stamina gauge. Remember that so you won't accidentally waste tons of stamina when you hit those levels :D

Well, I will make sure to remember that, thanks!

I think I can use this thread to ask something. I've been reading about combining units in order to level them up (following tips: not use silver units), but I can't find exact details regarding if using different types of units to feed another has effects on their stats the same way as you can see in LoV when combining units from different elements.
I mean, so far I get that combining same name units can lead to cost reduction (which I shouldn't try for now, to save silver units), and combining units with the same skill can lead to a skill level up (which I shouldn't try neither, for the same reasons). I'm ok with that.
But if I, for example, want to level Daniela up using junior bandits, would that cause a not-so-good growth?

No, exp does the same thing no matter what unit is giving it. Some units give more than others based on rarity, gender, and class.

Skulkraken

More specifically, rarer units are worth more xp, male units are worth more xp than female, and units of the same class as the one being leveled up are worth more xp.

Thank you both. :3 The possibility of a stat-growth disadvantage due to wrong combination choices kept me from leveling units up so far xD

Glad to see that the combination system at Aigis doesn't work like LoV's. I wasted some card's potential in LoV due to that system.

What? LoV isn't any different. EXP is EXP no matter what card gives it. The only bonus you get there is card of the same attribute give +1 bonus exp. That's all.

I may be extremely wrong with this, so I'll try to find the source where I read that info from.
Before finding this forum, I spent a lot of time going from link to link, reading entire discussions and comments sections, in order to gather enough info about the game to play it as effective as possible, so it's kinda hard for me to trace back the source chain I went through, but I'll try.

The basic idea I remember was, for example, if you had a card whose potential ATK/SKL at max lvl was 3000/6000 respectively, you could achieve that potential by feeding it with cards with the same element, otherwise the potential ATK/SKL at the end would be less than expected (let's say 2850/5700 for this example).
I made a quick review of main info sources and I can't find that idea again, so maybe I've just read false info somewhere and assumed (thx to my ignorance about the game) it was true. So it's quite likely I'm wrong.

Might as well give it a try and level 2 cards up under those different scenarios to test that.

Kotono

Don't need to test it. Such a formula does not exist in LoV. The card strength varies only by what level they were evolved at. If they are not at max level, they get 5% of their stats carried over. If they are at max, they get 10%.
