Thread: Isn't this game a bit overpriced?

You can definitely get most of the girls. A few whales in my guild have most if not all the lrs. A lot of the gachas are kinda directed to get you a specific lr. The only ones you can miss are like event specific stuff. Especially ssrs since only like top 5 get ssr max.

What do you mean with " Especially ssrs since only like top 5 get ssr max." ?

In the events where its raid battles only the top 5 people (or maybe 10 not sure) can actually max out the SSR reward for the event. Top 100 get the card if I recall correctly though.

Well the way raid event works is there are several rankings. There is a ranking for total damage done to raid bosses (only counts the event raid bosses, not the normal raid bosses that we have all the time such as Caim and Sin) and there is a ranking for first hit damage.

The top 5 in total damage done ranking at the end of the raid event get 4 copies of the event SSR. The last copy comes from the first hit damage, which top 20 gets 1 copy. So only 5 people in total can get the SSR Max for raid event (almost always the top 5 for total damage is in the top 20 for first hit so usually 5 people do get it).

As for lower rankings, I don't remember exactly but it is something like this:
    Top 5 - 4 copies
    Top 20 - 3 copies
    Top 50 - 2 copies
    Top 100 - 1 copy

Not sure if 2 copies is top 50 or 30, but I'm pretty sure the rest is correct.

Maybe I was wrong with something said above but paying 30€ is A LOT, at least for me paying on such an unreliable game like this one is a big deal, I expect some returns from my money, but paying that quantity for essentially nothing is just nuts.
I agree drop chance is really crazy and its expensive if you want to play the gacha, but I really like the game and I think its worth it. I mean for me, I grind a lot ( I am not a payed player ) so I spend a lot of time, but hey at the end its all because my guild and the great battles..
P.S. I only got SSR 3 times for more than 2 weeks :/

Price per cards of a rarity aren't that bad compared to games like AS or OI. The issue is that you need multiple SSR/LRs to be OP in a semi-competitive game (perfectly possible to enjoy without competition, but you're missing out on some exclusives). However, I'd argue that AS is even worse, since its Gachas are similar price, but since it's a direct card battle game in the same vein as Yugioh and MtG, even if you do hit it big (chances are similar or worse than DP), you can still lose a lot if luck in-duel doesn't go your way. Plus you're at least partly here for the H scenes and AS limits its scenes to very specific cards, most of which are R/SR draws from Gachas. At least DP you get scenes with every R+ card and they're MUCH more easily farmable. Never could really get into OI enough to spend on it, or even play it longer than two weeks for that matter.

I believe that the problem is that they think that SR's are better than they actually are, they are pretty pointless in a semi competitive scene as you said, and when a gacha has a guaranteed SR it means nothing to me really.

Well, other than hoping for ones whose scenes you want completion of, yeah lol, Guaranteed SR isn't worth much. My whole CQ deck outside of 2 cards is SSR now (1 LR!) and those 2 SRs will soon be phased out, so... Guaranteed SSR or bust!

Srs are actually very useful. Even big spending whales use them for their support skills. Rarity doesn't necessarily mean a card will be useful.

I think the thread is kind of missing the point. Dragon Providence is a business. The costs have likely been very carefully tailored to make the most money possible.

I am actually surprised by how expensive it is. I consider myself pretty affluent, but I would not even consider dropping 100 (dollars/euros/pounds) on a game like this, let alone thousands. And the cheap stuff is extremely weak - 0.124% chance of an LR as you say - and that 0.14% chance costs more than actual full games I could buy. But then, Nutaku know more about this than I do. My knowledge comes from Broadcast, with a far larger customer base, where the few thousand customers prepared to drop thousands of $$ are irrelevant compared to the tens of millions prepared to pay 5-10 $. I would guess that, if the player base increased, the prices would come down proportionately, but as it stands it is the Whales who are the main source of income for now. And I am thankful to them!

Nutaku will have calculated what their income would be for every possible price for those Gacha. It is not an exact science, but they have been in the industry long enough to have better data than just about anybody else. If they cut the price in half, they would sell more, but they would not sell twice as much.

I think of it this way. I get to play a free game. It has strategy, and it has cute anime warrior babes. It is paid for by rich people, and as long as they continue to spend thousands on it, I get to play for free. And as long as they see value in their purchases, they continue to pay for Nutaku to support DraPro and commission more games like it. Meanwhile, I get to pitch my strategies against people with more resources. It forces me to play smarter, with what I can get. When I get a limit break crown, it can be game-changing to me. I hoard them, then blow the lot when the right card comes along. If I had everything I wanted, the game would be much less fun.
