I'm just seriously wondering why you'd save up all the event currency and then try to buy all the stuff in one go. Wouldn't be the first time that an event ends early and someone doing this got stranded with plenty tokens yet nothing bought from the store. Server crash, car accident, having to work overtime.. Lots of things may happen that could stop you from making those last minute purchases..

Just simply can delay the collection of items.
