I just realized that you can fill 8 squad and not just 4 in the whale...suddenty it went from impossible to easy!

How do I choose Whale's attribute? I keep getting "none", meaning I'm losing out on bonus damage? My whaleship gets almost destroyed on the first encounter, and dies on the first round of the second boss encounter, even though I satisfy the power "requirements" -_-

You must have at least 16 slice girls in the whaleship.
Use 3* girls if necessary...
Also don't neglect equipement : attack and defense are important for the whale.

all above is correct, and slice type has to be the highest number of knight types, if you also have the same number of another type, you get a non-typed ship.
So really just make sure you have 16 or more slices type knight's and you have more slice type knight's than any other type of knight.

I found that page explained it really well, though just remember that is all the info is for the DMM site, but otherwise in my experience perfectly accurate.

ty for this i had no freaken idea that you could put 8 squads (didn't notice the scrollbar) so i was running at 1/2 power on the 1st and 2nd mission trying to get enough for the necklace. +1 for you
