Event jewelry always has more total power than regular jewelry. A completely unleveled event ring typically starts with 1200 total power (stats are distributed between atk and def). However, a +10 warrior ring starts with 1000 total power, all in atk.

Or earrings are the better example. Event earring have nearly double the stats as normal earrings but it is all def.

Whaleship is based off total power - should I be using event jewelry? Or should I be attempting to maximize the atk stat?

in short, is "total power' for whaleship also a little misleading in that I should value the atk stat more than the other stats?

I would suggest Total Power jewelry for most of your teams, and ATK on the first squad (or 2 if needed)

I put whale jewelry on my 6* or 5* gurls who only have one slot open

Event jewelry > Gacha jewelry. That is all, for whaleship or general usage otherwise. That said, some event jewelry is clearly more defensively weighted than others, so put those on your counter girls. For whaleship, the total power of the jewelry is considered, for everything else currently, going all attack is something you do if your squad is mostly unevolved 5*s and lower since their stats aren't that great and you want to kill before you get killed.
