Kadokawa will never let go of their precious Kancolle. They're very much isolationist in nature and will keep that franchise all for themselves.

We're talking about people that made a Kancolle arcade machine that's eats and preys on player's quarters for persistent gameplay that doesn't suck compared to the browser version.

Seriously, you should see that shit. The lineups can get ridiculous. And most of the time they're just there staring at the cute 3D models.

I don't think I want to see now. Their Arcade consoles must be completely covered in white by now..

Unlike other DMM games, KanColle is Kadokawa's, pure and simple. And Kadokawa guards their IPs jealously, as if Westerners would pass on STDs to their properties.

Edit: Also add on to the fact that KanColle's vibe hearkens to the days of the IJN (Imperial Japanese Navy), and I'm sure many, many Westerners, and Chinese, have not forgiven Japan to this day (Dec 7-8, 1941: IJN initiated suprise attacks on Hawaii (pre-US state), Philippines, Guam, Wake Island, Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong, using over 14 aircraft carriers and hundreds of ships in total in a 7 hour window)

Aw hell, I'm a westerner and WW2 was 72 years ago.. More than enough time has passed.
That's literally only thing I can even think to say.

Ive honestly never understood the logic behind "They clearly care about our product but its not the base we want, profits be damned!" or am i missing something here? Like, does it really matter if you "only" make 200m compared to the 2b you make home if it still gives a profit and expands your brand?

Seriously, I really doubt that anyone gives a shit about what happened during WW2, at lest not the majority of people that play these games. As for China, couldn't say.

Corporate entities think in rock star logic.

The whole stock market is driven by bullshit. Sometimes a move that makes no sense is just a PR stunt that share holders "think" is a good move.

Nutaku is good at closing games.

Fact aside that they will never get Kancolle since i doubt that the parent company will give them the localization rights, even if thats even remotely possible...given their absolute shitty record and bad management...just look at all the games they fail and are culling ruthlessly now.

Nutaku doesnt deserve to get the rights of Kancolle, plain and simple.

I tried to register on the site dmm.com/netgame. Had to use a trick (vpn) to bypass the security, as only the Japanese region gamers can play the game. The Japanese version of the game was much more interesting. Even the game things is much more. Maybe we should all try to re-play this version of the much beloved game about a brave warrior-girls. I used vpn "hola" , maybe there's a better version. Why the Japanese do not allow players from other regions to play in Kanpani Girls? Many other games on the site are available for non-Japanese people.

It's probably DMM being lazy about removing the region lock after Nutaku's KP went under.
