    Beginner's Advice

Hey guys, i recently started the game and would like to gain some advice. I've read some post on cc-ing katie as my first unit, but i would like to know whats the best way to gain exp for her? Do i continue doing story quest and feed her with some iron units? or should i sell those iron units for gold? what level of bronze or iron units should i be feeding her and who should i work on next? Im sorry for the long post and appreciate that someone could enlighten me on this matter. Thank you!!

    Good reads:
    A) FAQ / Beginner's Guide
    B) Class and Army Guide

Yes, best way to level up units below 50 is feeding them all iron and bronze trash. If you are running dry on money you can sell irons, but at the beginning leveling the core should take priority. Just feed them as they are, they are plentiful anyway. Advancement of story missions and tutorial / urgent mission practice missions gives you essential silver units for drop completion, so it is a good idea to push as far as you can)
Commonly, first units you want to level besides her are Archers (Bashira is OP for a free unit, then either Soma if you don't want to bother much with affection farming, or Daniela if you want more damage rather than utility and not scared of cows XD), Healers (your free golden Iris would be a good first Healer to raise), Heavy Armor (Leanne will serve you well deep into the mid-game) and Mage. If your account rerolling / starting premium roll managed to net you one of the cheat blacks, add them to the list, but otherwise stick to raising the core army first.

Also, this is not, bu any measure, a long post. Worry not.

As Zerozet has at the top of his posts they would be the best points to start off first and well worth to so you don't waste valuable resources.

I am sort of new to the game about to entre my 3rd month so was in the same boat as you are in now. At the very start I would try to get your base/core units to a decent lvl maybe around the 30 region. This will include Katie who is great at boosting your unit counter with her skill and can act as a good second tank so she should be high on your list. Also as Zerozet said you would also want to focus on building up some archers, healers and a good main tank.

A system I use when lvling units would be to save your bronze units you nab for lvling your units above 30 to lvl 50 and use iron for 1 - 30. This should save you money as lvling with iron above 30 isn't very cost effective. Also in the beginner guide you will find what maps are the best to farm when you get to them. Also hold onto your silver units you get from them missions you will need them later, it is explained in the beginners guide.

Katie was my first CCed unit as well and is well worth the investment. She wasn't my first awakened unit but she is on top of my list for next to be awakened and I use her a lot. If your ever low on cash be sure to save your charisma and stamina for the monday daily as you can net some good gold from it by selling the gold armor units you can earn from it. Not sure how strong your base is but you will need to build them up before taking on the dailies.

I'll echo ZeroZet on reading the posts he linked. Just a few things I have learned since I had to scrape to fix some of the mistakes when I first started the game.

    1. Never use Silvers for XP unless you really have a serious glut of them and then they should be used to skill up/unit cost reduce.
    2. LOCK everything Silver and above until you need to use it.
    3. HAT + Witch is a must to build first. (HAT=Healer, Archer, Tank)
    4. After you have one of each to 30 or so work on a second healer, second archer to 30, mage to 30, Valk to 30.
    5. Max Katie and cc as soon as able.
    6. Focus on Pastoral Gate, Return to Ruins, and Fiery Oasis as your go to maps for fodder to level your units.
    7. A good min costed bronze soldier, archer, and bandit can be useful on some maps. Especially when you need to deploy units quickly.

ETA - If you are running low on Gold run Pastoral Gate(And sell everything) or Run Deep Forest Road.

Also if you have made any mistakes like using silvers, etc and are not very leveled up you can delete and restart your account. Something I didn't know until I was post level 60 and had a mess of an army.

One last thing : even though you are able to CC an unit when she reach level 30, DO NOT DO IT BY ANY MEANS ! Always, always CC an unit when she's at max level (only exception being for AW fodder, but you're far from it)
