Thread: Hey There new Player looking for advice

Hey There im a new player, I started when the event of Lolonee was ending so im not that strong and I would like to ask for advice on how to lvl/CC my units (with my current team I keep loosing the 4th battle of the ongoing event "Ruined City") Im lvl66 dont have the matts for CC yet so my best fighters are

And i just spend all my SCs (freeplayer so only 50) and got box expantion (needed the room)

Im thinking on adding all of them or at least Mia, Stray, Harissa and yuyu to my main team, and i guess i should try to lvl up Mia, yuyu and Stray since they are plat and gold units so my question is,
Should I buy a spirit of gold with the demon cristals? (only got like 20 or so) so I can CC Katie (and soon Iris) or
should I keep lvling my current team?, or start lvling Mia and Stray instead?

My advice to new players is to focus on growing, you can try to get a base event unit if you feel lucky but the main target is to CC an archer/Vampire hunter, unless you have a really good plat/black.
Reason why is at the lower levels, enemies generally have no armor and the increase range really helps clear the starting maps. (a pre-cc witch can handle armors till you are ready)

My recommended CC units: Bashira (you should have enough silver archers if not then your strongest silver archer then bash) -> Katie/Belinda -> mia/iris/valerie.
Your goal is to clear daily missions on hard and all of them need at least 1 CC archer(except monday which you can run with 2 CC witches+mage)

Do NOT buy spirits, its never worth the demon crystals.
Save your crystals for spica.

I would leave the event maps for the weekends and focus on daily maps during the weekdays. If you can get 1 copy of DK it is more than enough, the cost of her is so high, that CR doesn't really matter.

You want your Leeanne 50CC50 as soon as possible. She's the ones taking the hits for your team. Then level up your Healers as well. Bigger heals can make quite a difference.

After your tank/healer is taken care of, your next most important is dps. If you're losing battles because monsters keep on getting past you then it means your dps isn't dpsing hard enough and you need to level them next.

No Calliope? You want at least two witches for Phalanx 2 to grind for affection + gold/platinum fairies if you need them.

Phalanx 2 has been pretty good in terms of affection item drops.

Both Katie and Phyllis is pretty good. Crave might be dropped cuz he's an attacker and not a UP Generator.

Cypria is strong. Her assassinate probably can save you sometimes.

A lv50 leeanne is enough to carry you to the desert maps (fiery oasis) where the good xp/unit xp is.

He doesnt need calliope (not worth min-costing yet) when he has BOTH belinda and yuyu.
I keep mixing Cyrus with Cypria (hence the edit) - he'll need a mage/mage armor rather than a rogue.

He will eventually need leeanne CC-ed but not till he has enough dps to clear the adds (no point blocking so much till you can clear them fast enough)
@kira, I would recommend you giving affection to your plat and above units first. Like bash/belinda/mia. (At this point, i'm treating mia as your 2nd core healer)

first of all - never buy spirits with demon cristals (or the gold mages for that matter) . Second of all , spending scs on expanding the inventory was smarter then what most of us did in the early levels.....even tho getting some premiums early can help a lot (assuming u get lucky)



Now , as for why u can't really pass it , it's simply because your team is weak. You do need to cc stuff. CC-ed units are a whole lot stronger then non-cced units. Actually , i'd suggest u skip this event (or try to get a couple copies on the first maps - but generally it's not worth because of the low drop rate) and try to raise your team. Lucille , while a very good unit , it's also pretty niche right now. Not that high of a priority for you. Hell...u might even try to farm the 3rd map for the silver angel/magic fencer if u feel like , but they are not a priority either , and they still have low drop rate as well. Right now , the best thing u can do is level up your units.



As for CC_ing , i'm going to name what i would do in order of importance(priority) :



1. Very high priority :


Bashira , katie , iris , leanne - aka the typical HAT setup (healer/archer/tank). Right now bashira is your strongest unit. CC_ing , maxing aff and raising her level will give you a very strong archer. Archers are also one of the most general use units in the game , so its good to raise them asap.
Katie has a good skill for ramping up points , and is rather tanky as well for a soldier, so she can act like a pseudotank for a while as well.




2. Medium priority:


Belinda , valerie (or the female silver mage since she is better , if u have her) , alissa (preferably mia if u have the resources) , Lolone , soma


Belinda is a very good witch for an event unit for the simple fact that she's good even without being CR (cost reduced) - since she starts at the same cost as a premium unit.

Valerie - will be your basic aoe damage dealer


Lolonee - i'm guessing she is not cr-ed , or at a low cr (max 1/2) - not that great of a choice , but your other duelist seems to be elaine , which is pretty bad , so go with her. U will also need a duelist in your team.


Soma and alissa are ther efor the simple fact that u lack better untis of this class. U will generally need at least 2 archers (i'd honestly suggest daniela since shes better then soma , but soma starts with affection (and she's already lvl 42) , so u dont have to waste extra aff items on her) to farm DC (demon cristals) , and generally having 2 healers will be required from now on. If u have the resources to cc , aff and raise Mia , she is better , but otherwise , her heal is too small (even tho feng shui masters are really good at aoe healing/poison maps)





3. Low priority


yuyu , second mage , second duelist , second heavy , specialists




Yuyu is actually a very good witch - with platinum levels of dps (she's an elf - low hp , increased attack and attack speed) , and u will generally need at least 2 witches.


A second mage is always good to have. Best would be to get lucky and get a premium since they are quite a bit stronger. If not , try to make your second mage a Pallis instead of valerie , since her skill is better then his.

As for second duelist - i'd suggest getting a valk , since they are good to have vs early rushes , and can also help ramp up your points on some maps.


Specialists - Generally event , and niche units with specific roles. Not the highest priority to cc or raise , but some can be really good when their niche happens to apear during an event.

i'd actually suggest getting at least 1 magic fencer actually since they can act as both ranged on meele slot , and as a pseudo princess during skill - aka magic damage that ignores armor.







As for your future plans , i'd suggest getting spica asap from trading post. She is arguably the second best archer in the game , after nanaly , and between her and bashira , u will have a solid ranged lineup.

Don't bother with saki for now. Ninjas are specialists , and saki is not worth getting asap. Hell , i'd argue that u can even awaken 3-4 units before actually getting saki , but that's debatable , and far into the future for u.

So the plan will be like this then, save Demon Crystals for Spica and start lvling Iris, Leeanne, Mia and start working on my witches belinda and yuyu and CC Katie I should get a gold fairie tomorrow in the stamp card I think (bashira will take time since I need a spirit of plat for her and currentrly I dont know where to get one)

Also for affection should I use Crystals or wait till I can farm Phalax 2 for rubies?
(I remember reading somewhere that I should not use Bouquets because they give the less affection points)

And I will keep using my stamina on map 3 with luck i might grab something (thats how I got 3 belindas in last event )

If you have spare Stamina to burn and not doing any of the needed daily quest/ event maps, any challenge map for affection item is better than nothing. Phalanx 2 is pretty hard to do until your units is CC'd though.

Before Phalanx 2, I farmed my affection items in Gigantic enemy map. It was fastest one to do.

There's no real drawback to using up your bouquets, actually. When it comes to spirits and affection the best advice would probably be to check out this link as well as the Daily Missions other posters have already mentioned. As you can tell from the chart there's a lot of maps where any benefit you're gaining from using higher value gifts is undermined by having to pay more Stamina to farm them to begin with. Ultimately your big decision will likely be based on the spirits you need more than anything else. Farming Low Cost Battle & A Gigantic Enemy is tedious compared to Phalanx 2 but it's often a strong option for newer accounts that still rely heavily on Silver & Gold units.
