    New(ish) Player Seeking Team Advice

So I am a relatively new player; I'd heard of the game before but it took me a while to decide to look into it and give it a go. I've been decently enjoying myself so far (I've always had a thing for Tower Defense type games), but now its getting to the point where I figure some possible advice on my current team (and units I might want to put on my team). Currently having troubles passing the desert campaigns, specifically Base Scramble 1. Those damn mummies hurt, and even following some YouTube guides I've found I've not managed to even 1 star it yet. Not sure if this is merely a unit level problem or a team composition problem, so I figured I'd swallow my pride and see what other esteemed players thought; I've managed to make it well enough just winging it by myself.

This is what my primary team consists of right now. The one thing I'm not entirely sure of is having two Priestess Warriors, but I mainly have Ellet just for the extra blocking potential for her cost.

The other two files are simply units I do have in reserve. Not entirely sure which ones are good and which ones are not so much; I've been mainly adding units to my team based upon how much I like them and loosely following the new player guide on here. If you have anything else to add, please, I'm all ears.

first of all , yeah , this is a unit level issue , considering the team that you have there (which is rather strong i might add) , you should breeze on the older maps.

Your units are simply underleveled. Most of the desert missions require at least cc-ed units. Bernice is a good tank that spikes higher then her rarity for example , but un-cc-ed , she won't tank even a big mummy. Cornelia is the game's best tank straight up and she does a crapload of damage vs undead , but that requires a lot of investment in her , as you will neeed to awaken and skill awaken her first.

Elizabeth (the platnium vampire hunter) would also muder those mummies since they aren't armored , and vampire hunters gain a lot of extra damage vs undead as well. The general issue with vamp hunters is that they are bad vs armored units , but those that aren't armored get shreded by the triple shot they have.....even more so if undead.

Actually , you have a lot of good stuff in there that has to be leveled to shine.

Okay , i'm going to give you my opinion on your units first , then i'm going to say what i would do with my team. If you are simply looking for advice on how to beat the desert maps specifically , we also have some video guides (http://harem-battle.club/millennium-...uide-list.html - if you don't find what you need , you can also try using the aigis wiki or simply search on youtube the name of the missions and add 3*. Most of the times , you will find a number of videos by people using the most common units)

Anyway , i'd rate your units as :

    S tier - Cornelia , Sophie , Mikoto , elizabeth
    A+ tier - camilla , marr , sherry , lilia
    A tier - jessica , fignelia , sasha , dahlia , flamel
    B tier - bernice , mel , agness , etc.

Now , as to what would i do , is :

    1. level camilla quite a bit. Outside of the premium black healer (elyse) , she is straight up the best healer in the game. At max level , awakened , and with max skill level , she heals over 1k (mine , with all my boosters and the prince buff heals around 1.3k actually during her skill).
    2. raise elizabeth - she;s your best pshysical ranged dps atm. Especially if you're going to fight mumies.
3.Raise bernice (both cornelia and sophie will spike higher then her eventually , but just cc-ed , i'd rate bernice as a better tank because of the better block)
    4. Raise marr - her fengshui passive will also help when against desert maps by reducing the bad weather effect by 50% when cc0ed (70% when awakened)
    5. raise sasha - i see no cc-0ed mage in your team
    6. raise blacks as you see fit - all are strong , but some are rather situational ( mikoto a bit less then the others since you can use her as a pseudo witch i guess)

Generally speaking , a balanced team should have a core composed of the typical HAT (healer , archer , tank - generally i use 2 healers , 2 archers -or any other physical ranged dps like vampire hunters or pirates - and 1-2 tanks depending on the needs) accompanied by 1-2 soldiers (i generally use 1 soldier , but a lot of people use 2 for better up generation - which reminds me : i don't see katie. At max cost , i'd rate katie over aria since she's tankier and therefore able to stay mroe on the field without healing support) , 1-2 witches , 1-2 mages or aoe magic dps (or 1 mage + 1 summoner , or 1 mage + 1 bishop , depending on your preferences) and 2-3 duelists/lightning rods (princesses/barbarians/angels fit this category)

PS: when i say raise/level - i mean raise said unit to cc50 at the very least (and max affection it)

First of all: Didn't you already ask for advice? I remember a really lucky guy with Elizabeth Sophie Mia Corneria and other good units and you show those on your images

Secondly: Your main team should be your "ready for all" team, it should consist of 2 soldiers (for early rushes and UP generation), 2 archers for flying enemies, 1-2 witches for heavily armored enemies and or highly defensive flying enemies, 1-2 heavy armors to create choke points for weaker foes or tank high attaking enemies, 2 healers (i see you have Flamel and Ellett plus Camila but priest warriors are niche in a way that they are meant for maps with few ranged spots and since they are a hybrid class their stats are lower than those of their parent classes: less Def than HA and less AT than healers, 1-2 mages for magic AoE (i see you are using Mikoto for this role with Mel for Phisical AoE, Mikoto is a really good unit that becomes even better after AW and her SAW lets her do 5x her AT as true damage and that is huge in this game with later enemies that have both high def and mr, i have Mel on my main team and she is good to have, i don't use her as often as mages but there are cases when magic AoE simply wont cut it) and finally 1-2 duelists/gankers (i recommend bandits if you get a plat+ but i see you have Dahlia, i don't have her so i don't know how good she is but she has risk life II pre-cc and risk life III post-cc so a regular old bandit if you ask me, you rolled both lilia and sherry for magic duelists, Lilia is a tanky princess after which gets better at her role after AW where she starts regenerating health at a rate of 24hp/sec that triples on skill activation (so 132hp/sec for 30-40 seconds depending on skill level) while sherry is an offensive princes, when AW she gives all gold silver bronze and iron units on active team a 5% boost on AT DEF & HP so she can boost you teams real nice and once she is SAW she can attack everything on range with a really high AT value

All and all you have good units but where are your silvers? i have a lot of AW units but i still use 1/3 of silvers on my team, they are priceless for early rushes and early deploiments; i sugest you focus on leveling your main team fully pre-AW (so mikoto to 80 plats to 70 golds to 60 silvers to 50) and then start taking more diffucult maps like the dessert ark, just so you know if you have trouble with base scramble I, Base scramble II is a difficulty peak even harder than BS I so even if you pass BS I now you will need to stop and level you units once you reach BS II

I figured it was more than likely primarily a level problem. I'll just have to start grinding maps for fodder.

In response to your other question, I've never posted to this site before. The ONLY reason I found this site was because it popped up in Google when I searched for beginner guides for MWA.

Its good to know that for the most part I've been heading in the right direction. This game is surprisingly more complex than I had originally anticipated it being.

    Thanks for the help.

you have a lot of info on this forum , if you have the time to read guides and not get bored.

One of the first things i'd read besides the beginers guides is the class guide/army template that lafate posted. It will help you understand which class does what (some classes can fit multiple roles , and some classes are rather similar in their uses as well - for example archers , pirates and vampire hunters.) , and also understand the slang people use on this forum.

As for what blaxer said earlier , i also had a sense of deja vu (you actually have quite a lot of high quality units on your team , and stuff like that stands out ) when looking at your team , so it was probably a missunderstanding.
