Because there is only one pirate slot and it was taken by someone else.

Premium unit. Premium units aren't considered at all unless I already have them.

I'd consider adding gold thief Leda/Reda to the list. She might be premium only, though being gold means she either will appear in Gold Rush or you'll roll her sooner or later. Thieves ability is actually really useful.

Edit: also, I'd still add Maurette as second Gold Get! unit. It gives you simply more option for farming. Consider that you will probably want to gold get! not only during farming story maps but also during low costed event maps and you wight need to have two lanes covered in those cases sometimes.
