Since game is competitive and you can't do anything competitive if you are a few weeks(sometimes even days) below the others.. such type of games usually keep releasing new servers for an active cash flow(so new players who want to try the game can become competitive... and paying cash means you can be even more competitive)

This results in game slowly dying until a little more than 1 active guild remains who simply can't leave because they spent either 1000s of $ or half a year on it already.

The only way for such game to survive is to keep releasing pay only content which actually helps with being competitive(like exclusive equipment/girls) or release new servers, which pretty much guarantees you get a decent cash flow again.

They can later merge servers because 'unpopular' and keep releasing new ones... merge them... rince and repeat.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Or perhaps rather, while your comments could plausibly be true for Wartune (which I've never played, so I have no idea), they're wildly wrong for Mononofu.

Mononofu has two servers, and only two. The second server was released a couple of weeks after the first. Those are the only two servers to ever exist, at least on the English language version, and there have never been server mergers.

Mononofu does not have guilds at all, whether active or otherwise.

While it's true that a new player won't be competitive in PVP for a while, it's also possible to just ignore that and treat it as a PVE game. Nearly all of the content is PVE, after all. You'll lose the daimyo tournament if you enter, which you might as well, since you get 50k copper just for showing up. You'll sometimes lose 1/4 of your loot from being raided in a port exploration, but that happens a lot to the very top players, too. And you probably won't rank very highly in the slight rewards given for the ranked match ladder and daily world bosses, but the main reward from the daily world bosses is the convoys that pretty much everyone gets to clear, including people who just started yesterday.

If you're a new player hoping to be competitive in PVP, it will take you several months to catch up--but you absolutely can catch up, with only the exception that you'll always trail a level or so behind in lab skills. Events that you missed will be repeated, and some players are up against the level cap of 65 right now, so you're only gaining on us in general levels, building levels, and equipment forging levels.

I started on first day - and I certainly mean it when I tell that no one should ever consider to start it right now.

Even if we forget about the worst art on nutaku bar a few western games, poor imbalanced gameplay with barely any viable variety(viable as in not having certain UR - just reroll until you get it at the very least, because all other UR's just pale in comparison.. aside of maybe 1 more which is decent)... timed events from people who luck out in the run for daimyo placing his/her own time with your only real choice being adapting to it until next daimyo makes it even worse.... the list of downsides goes on and on.
Even though all URs are at least decent, you need duplicates of them to be worth something... so again - you didn't luck out with duplicates of that specific UR in a while - might as well quit the game as well.
Literally in a game with potential for a strategic play they ruined it by giving the same tier girls complete 180 abilities I don't even know how was it possible to make it THAT disbalanced... you don't even need to test or consider anything when something is literally 1.5-2+ times more efficient, you don't exactly have a choice between temple/church because one is clearly superior with main meta... unless you can get a very good non meta setup - church is barely viable unless you want to 'pray' for RNG to guide you there... Heck even something as basic as weapon is clearly biased towards getting the exact same for every girl...

Not staying competitive means your progression slows to a crawl compared to those who started at start and were luckier/spent a lot. Even if we consider the only fun factor being unlocking... rather bad scenes - this exact thing is pretty much becoming much slower for you, since you are in much worse position to farm the events.
Obviously after a year you will catch up with most non girl 'unlockables', even if you start now and go through the same route the others took but much slower... well, unless they raise the cap obviously.
But even after reaching said cap - unless you got extremely lucky - you have worse girl setup than those who played longer anyway.

It has two servers and the population is rapidly dropping in both - only a matter of time until server 1 will remain at around 100 active players and server 2 will probably descent even lower in half a year or so.

    Rogue Nation Event

Anyone know what the general card that is the most expensive reward is of current event? I have not been able to find it labled anywhere and I want to know if it is worth saving for instead of getting the tickets.

Anybody else not have trade recognize their copies of nanban pistol/nanbakusoku/frois' notes? It would be really nice to convert them to save some space, especially after finding out that the inventory is limited to 100 slots.

You have to upgrade the item to level 1, I had the same problem since i forgot they start at level 0. Once they are level 1 it works fine.

Last time they ran a warlord event, the final reward was a universal EVO card. I can't guarantee that that's it again, but it probably is. I'll find out as quickly as I can for you, though the event will probably be about 1/3 over by the time I do.

So basically, you played the game briefly at launch and wrongly assume that nothing could possibly have changed since then.

You're mistaken to be so fixated on UR generals. If you were to assemble a team of whatever UR generals you want, all level 55, and whichever inherited UR general skills you want, I could easily tear you apart with the team I actually use. For that matter, another player building purely around SSR generals would tear you apart. Your UR Tiger of Kai will be useless because it will never have higher speed than the targets it attacks in such a scenario, leaving Master Strategist as your only decent damage dealer, and without any way to get much to buff her damage.

At launch, UR The Tiger of Kai was the only exceptionally strong general. Today, there are four:

    UR Tiger of Kai
    UR Master Strategist
    SSR Takeda Shingen of Kai
    SSR Sanada Yukitaka

If you're into PVP, then maybe you want to add:

    SSR Takenaka Hanbei
    SSR Uesugi Kenshin

Uesugi Kenshin isn't very good in PVE, though. And if you believe that the Japanese wiki is indicative of the content that will come over here, more top tier generals are coming.

The new event probably gives a universal EVO card. I'm probably going to save it because I have nothing worth using it on, even though I have 7 UR generals that I don't yet have a four star version of.

Temple and church are both viable. There are only two players on my server who have cleared the entire campaigns. One uses temple and the other uses church. Of the 16 players in the round of 16 in the daimyo tournament, 2 use church characters only, 5 use temple characters only, and 9 use at least one of each. None of the temple character only players have any hope of winning, though one of the church only players has been daimyo several times. If you restrict to the four players who have been daimyo in the last three months, you get 11 temple characters and 9 church characters.

As for a rapidly dropping playerbase, the first time I reached the round of 32, I had to win five matches to do so. This week, I had to win four. That means that my best estimate is a playerbase that has dropped by half in the last four months or so. I wouldn't call that catastrophic.

Based on similarity to the summer water gun event, it's likely that the last four opponents in the new rogue nation event drop a valuable SSR Evo card with about a 0.2% probability. In the water gun event, I got 12 such SSR Evo cards in 5600 attempts, which is enough to get a pretty good estimate of the probability even when it's that low.

The last two opponents this time are rather annoying, as they're very strong corsair mobs that do massive reflect damage. My usual PVE group that cleared the entire campaign loses outright to both of them, and to beat them, I have to swap some parts and have something inappropriate for the warlords. The other two are much easier to defeat.

How exactly the Sparrow Tail-shaped Hood works? (the armor you can drop from church dungeon)

What exactly they mean by "restore troops"? Heal? By how much?
    and what POW stands for?

And are "Frois Notes" worth leveling and improving in port?

I haven't gotten the sparrow tail item to drop, so I don't know what it is. The Japanese wiki describes it as "Arriving at the beginning of the turn, recovering the force of military force x 10, increasing defense power of armed power x 10". I'm not entirely sure what that means. Do you have the English translation of it?

POW is power, one of the three general stats. If you look at a general card, it has Pow (power), Led (leadership), and Int (intelligence) numbers, with values typically in the ballpark of 150 or so if you've got decent generals to level 55 and been leveling your lab skills.

As for the church event items, the base items that are directly dropped are pretty much junk whose only real use is as materials for crafting improved versions. The second tier versions aren't terrible, but aren't the items you really want, either. The third tier items are the real prizes from the event.

I'm not impressed by Ultimate Western Musket. I can't see any reason why I'd want to use it over both a water gun and a cursed nameless sword, so I've been vendoring the nanban pistols. Ultimate Western Armor and Luis' Traveler Diary, on the other hand, are absolutely endgame grade gear. I've got the latter and have the components for the former, but need to wait until tomorrow because of the daily port trade limit. Since I just got the last base item for both of them today, I don't expect to get enough drops to get a second of either, however.
