Tips and Tricks

Welcome to Fake Lay Wiki. Here are some Tips for gameplay and other tidbits. Collected from various forum posts and other wiki pages.

If you have not yet realised it, Fake Lay is partially a reset game. Other names are idle or clicker games. Or incremental games. To gain advantages and progress further you have to "reset". Ingame this is actually represented as a big red Reset button. Do NOT confuse this with the hard reset button hidden in the options wich will wipe your safe game. Instead of an ingame currency like some other games of that genre you gain speed by resetting.

The other part is a ladder system pvp like battle. Competing your best girl against the best girls of other players. The incremental idle part is not that big, but it is the part where you unlock your girls and this being a porn game might be important...

And of course the game has an ingame currency to improve gameplay wich you can buy for real money. Diamonds.


Tips around Diamonds
  • Do not spend your tutorial diamonds. Just wait a minute or two.
  • Go to options and configure the configuration dialog on spending diamonds. Prevents accidental buys.
  • Temporary stuff like skipping time, buying money is not carried over into the next incarnation. Obiously. Non temporary stuff to buy does stay over resets.
  • Spend diamonds on Time Warp > Studios > Energy > Other Stuff. You mileage may vary on this, but the first few purchases should be Time Warps multiplier. Preferably x8 because there seems to be a discount. You can not substitute time warp bonus with reset bonus. You just can not. You will need both, because that is how multiplication works. But the increases in reset bonus are mostly linear, and as such have diminishing returns, and the increases in time warp are multiplicative.
  • Try to reach a rank in Challenge each week. 2+,10+ or 18+ gives 1,2 and 3 diamonds. If you can reach 23+ you probably do not need any tips from here.
  • Last scene of a girl gives 20 diamonds. 1000 challenges give 50 diamonds.
  • You can reroll completed quests that have not yet been collected. For example to change it to a diamond quest.
  • If you plan to buy or spend diamonds and a holiday is only a few days away, wait. Usually there are discounts. Sometimes for buying, sometimes for spending and sometimes both.
Tips regarding Resets and progress with the Ladies
  • Use your energy wisely, plan ahead: Table of girls skill and money requirements and reset bonus per scene
  • Your very first resets will behave different and each time a scene is first unlocked it might take longer, most noticeable with "Fake it".
  • Time warps have a capping. You will need reset bonus too.
  • If clicking hearts takes too long, try loggin on with touch device. Sweet Talk option is much easier there.
  • Expect to have around 100 energy after unlocking most girls. The higher girls mostly give 1 diamond, the earlier girls often energy, after completing a scene.
  • With the exception of "Fake it"s you can change between girls to advance their scenes simultaneous.
  • You can ignore up to three girls and still advance to the next girl.
  • Lola will not give you bonus unless you unlock her completely.
  • There is no real sweet spot to do resets. You have to balance it with filming and training sessions. Later girls and higher scenes always give more bonus, but if you have to wait hours to film a scene or wait for money or skill requirement, you are past the "sweet spot". Reset and or save diamonds to get the next time warp multiplier.
  • Only use the small training and filming options if you plan on resetting soon. They have a terrible energy/time efficiency.
  • You loose Building Experience and Skill Level and have to start at 1 again. But you do not loose a girls stats. So try to complete one or more filming and training sessions in between resets.
  • Use time skip tickets to adjust your reset/training cycle and times to your daily schedule. They last for 7 days after collecting.
  • Also, if you are on a long reset cycle - you wait days and weeks to complete girls - and a holiday is near, wait a bit longer. There might be events and most events so far only had specials for completely unlocked girls.
  • If you are low on energy, look up the next few scenes you might be able to unlock before resetting and prepare skills and money. You can easily calculate the time needed in hours to get the needed money and decide if you might make it before you want to reset. Skills are harder to predict if you need several levels.
  • The current goal for total bonus to unlock the last girl (Anya) in a reasonable time (several weeks) is ~200M. With a tenth of that speed bonus it will literally take about a year to complete her. Limiting factor late game is money.
  • The girls are roughly grouped in threes. So without changing your total bonus and if you are willing to wait, you can complete a group, but after that you will hit your personal wall of big numbers. To put it another way: if you wait a month to complete the third girl in a group, you will have to wait a year to complete the first girl in the next group.
  • Money making is hard, late game. The buildings have a capping and the total increase by leveling the buildings is about 100-150%. You might be able to save for a time warp, but if you are not scraping on the last few scenes of the last girl, you are propably better off resetting. You are of course free to spend tons of diamonds.

How to not suck at Challenges
  • Most event stuff happens somewhere in the challenge area, the button to reach the Daily quests is hidden with the trophies plus the combat dialog, and to complete quests or rewards you do not need to do ranked challenges.
  • Try to concentrate on one girl for challenges. You can change the girl later but it will take a lot of time for the new girl to reach the level of the old girl.
  • You should reach your "hit girl" in under a day, so you can still do resets. Later in the game progress this is not as important.
  • Winning challenges gives a little bit of money. Ranked is 10x the money of friendly.
  • Extend your winning streak by not fighting odds you cant win and waiting for the Change opponent option to refresh or your next reset. Otherwise, ranked challenges will feel like one step forward two steps back. Winning in a streak gives 2 points and after loosing you need a few wins that only give 1 point to get back on track.
  • Grab clothing items at events for your girls. They are sometimes better than any combination of other items including diamond bought accessoires.
  • Do use the booster items if you have similar stats as your opponent and want to maintain winning streak in ranked challenge.
  • You do not need the highest girls to compete in Challenges. Stat leveling slows down the higher the stamina of a girl is. You still get more stats with more stamina and total stamina in itself is important, but you can still reach rank 20+ with Sanshi or Ice.
  • And you also do not need a high speed multiplier for challenges. It helps because you can reach more girls and thus a higher stamina, but it does not help in leveling the stats of your favorite girl.
  • There is a minimum chance to not loose a challenge, no matter the stats of the opponent. Propably a chance to not win as well. This can get usefull for events and some daily quests. But for daily quests it might be better to just reroll an unwinnable quest.

If your just starting to play Fake Lay, here are some things you should know before making any big decisions.

Tutorial: The game will walk you through a boring tutorial on how to get started. Follow the instructions, BUT when it asks you to use diamonds to speed the game, DONT. You can leave the game open or just close it and come back later. The wait shouldnt be more than 10 minutes. (can someone verify how long? I walked away and came back a hour later)
Save your diamonds for a better prize.

(And adding to that: do NOT click around too fast. There is no warning on the small diamond cost thingies to speed up things. I lost at least 2 to that. At least now there is a method ingame to gain additional diamonds by having a ranking in the challenge.)

You will now have gone over how to sweet talk the girls, give them gifts, and go on "fake it" dates, and record them for the next pose, the game will leave you alone to do as you please.

The "requirement" is, to have unlocked scenes that will give bonus. That means: Reset bonus is greater than 0. Even a reset bonus of 0.1% would speed the game up. How much bonus is subject to change. Early version of game it was 0 for already unlocked scenes, then it probably was adjusted with each patch and now any scene gives something, but a scene's overall bonus might be capped .

To reset the game, go into the "shop" tab. "Speed by Reset" is the 4th icon from the left, and looks like a red button. By accepting this, you will lose all progress except for Girl's Star level, Any filming studio that you payed for in diamonds, Any clothes you bought for the girl, the "challenge" stats that you did during practice, and any rewards you unlocked (upper left corner)

Every girl has 10 'levels' first 5 girls give 1 energy for 1st 9 lvls and 20 diamonds on last level. You also get 10 diamonds for free(better not use those when tutorial buttons show you to use it, it's a waste)
So by the time you max 3rd girl with free 40 diamonds. You might start saving for 20 energy instead (since it's very limited with only 5 girls having it) unless you plan to dump a lot of money.

The rest of the girls seem to give 1 diamond for level 1 and not sure about anything past that.





For the first 5 girls, you get 20 diamonds (bought currency) for getting them through their poses and having them work for you. You gain more (a single diamond) with the first pose of all the other girls. I recommend saving that for one of two things:
Either buy the best studio for filming, or a pack of 20 energy. The energy pack requires 120, so you will have to hold off even more

I bought the studio because every time i restart the game, i don't have to spend money on the cheaper studios, and it has a 350 % increase in experience for the girls. The energy pack is a better option, but unfortunately i didn't consider that as an option at that time.

You can use your diamonds for what ever you like, and even pay to have more. But if your just gonna play the game for free, those two are the better items

Why is the energy pack a good option? Filming is maxed out at 36 slots (should you have bought all studios) and you need only 10 for training your attack girl. Money is not good for anything late in a reset cycle, neither are skills. You should go for x8 Warp to unlock more girls in days instead of weeks.

Actually, this is half true. If you fulfill the requirements and press record, the girl will take some time to level up to the next pose. In that time, if you used cash to buy something, and you no longer fit the requirement, the game will still go through its time, but it wont unlock the next pose when its done. After you fulfill that requirement again, you can press record and it will change to the next pose. I don't recommend doing that too often though, since you should have all the requirements and get it done one time (you don't have any benefit till the pose changes)

On challenges and reset cycles. This is an incremental reset game, at least one part of the game is. To get the higher girls you need to build your multiplication factor ( the alarm clock on the top) or wait some years. Normaly in such a reset/idle game you would search for a sweet spot, when to reset. But in this game you also need to level your girls for the challenges - which is on a 10 hour timer, all or nothing. The smaller practice/filming training intervalls are not really worth the time to click them. Early game you can reset as often as you like, usually if it takes too long to wait for the requs for another scene to unlock. (In an earlier verision of the game there was no bonus for already unlocked scenes). A little later you should try to time it with your off times, so before you log off, you should have your favorite girl unlocked and sent to training.

I guess Sanshi and Ice are very popular because you only need 10 minutes fake time for each (not counting the 20 sec fakes). I could reset and unlock Sanshi between the 20 minute timer of the challenge.

You can skip the money making somewhat, if you win your challenges. Might depend on your clock multiplier. But for my easy reachable girls, I can swith off money making as soon as I have unlocked enough girls for training.

My spreadsheet wiki for wiki sake is ok, but I need info to look into, to compare, to plan ahead. Preferably on one site and not 15. I uploaded my spreadsheet, no idea where or if to include in wiki structure.
