1. Kamihime
  2. What Soul To Get?

If you play Kamihime Project long enough, you'll most likely unlock every soul to the point you start piling up Soul P to the point of no use, but starting off you may find yourself having trouble deciding which soul to pick. There are many variables to factor in when prioritizing which to get early on, this page is here to help you decide.

What is a Soul?

To start off, before we get to deciding, you need to understand what a soul is.

A soul is a special unit in your party, used in battle the same way as a kamihime but they have a few special key features that make them different.
  • All have a max level of 20 with 3 different tiers, standard, elite and legendary. The higher tiers requires more exp to level than the lower.
  • Their element is determined by your equipped main hand weapon which also effects their burst damage and can give it an additional effect if included.
  • They gain a special passive bonus through leveling and at max level, a mastery bonus that stays active on every soul.
  • They gain additional HP every time you rank up.
  • They can equip an ex skill obtained from any other soul you've obtained and leveled. They have 4 skills total while kamihimes only have 3.
  • You will always be required to have your soul in your party and their position cannot be changed, so they will always be on the first/top unit of the front row and cannot take advantage of being in the rear.
  • Are unlocked by using Soul P (obtained by ranking up and events) and leveling up other souls as prerequisites. Some require a Holy Soul P to be unlocked are is only obtainable as Union Event rewards.

Deciding who to unlock first

For starters, there are several free souls you can unlock which will you give you some mastery bonuses and ex skills to use for the early game.

The main purpose of a soul is to fill out the utility gaps missing in your current party set up. There are 2 main variables that will heavily effect on who should be prioritized in unlocking.

1. What utilities do your current kamihimes of your team(s) have?
2. What will you need for upcoming/future events?

Here is a list of skill effects you should aim to get and/or have available:
  • A-Frame ATK↓ Debuff
  • B-Frame ATK↓ Debuff
  • A-Frame DEF↓ Debuff
  • B-Frame DEF↓ Debuff
  • Heal/Regeneration
  • Enemy Buff Dispel
  • Affliction Recovery
  • Overdrive Meter↑

And not as important but can really come in handy:
  • ATK↑ Buffs
  • DEF↑ Buffs
  • Damage Reduction%
  • Enemy Affliction RST↓
  • Blind Affliction
  • Dizzy Affliction

Do understand that it is not always required to have every single listed skill at the same, it varies on the on-going event and what mechanics you'll have to deal with. Some events may give you more leeway than other events.

Won't go too in-depth into what frames are but to quickly explain, debuffs and buffs can only stack if they are different frames. Each skill has their own frame and is displayed in-game. You can often, with some exceptions, tell which skill belongs to what frame by how the skill is used. A-frames are often attack based that inflict it after damage. B-frames are often just skills that only apply a debuffs (some exceptions such as Mordred's Outrage). C-frames are more difficult to differentiate and are more rare, it's not listed as a priority because not everyone has the luck to obtain a kamihime with it. There are a couple more frames such as one for eidolons and another unique frame but they can be ignored for now as they won't be a determining factor in choosing your soul.

Since there is far too many kamihime and more added every week, I do not plan to make a list of every kamihime's skill for this guide, so you will need to look over your current girls and see if you have the needed skills and this guide can't help you with upcoming events, that would require constant updates and that requires a level of dedication I cannot handle.

Legendary Soul Priority

This is a list of legendary souls to aim for first based on what utilities they bring. Aim for the one that offers skills that your current party does not have. There are a few other legendary souls that have yet to be released in the Nutaku version as of making this guide, they are not included in this list at this time and are most likely low priority.

PrioritySoulSkillsDescription/Reasoning
Very HighMordredOutrage - Various DoT afflictions, dizzy, blind and ATK/DEF↓.

Vicissitudes of Fortune - Party affliction RST↑, enemy affliction RST↓

Black Propaganda - Overdrive Meter↑
Her main skill Outrage provides a -10% ATK/DEF↓ debuff, B-frame despite also dealing attack damage, in addition to several other afflictions including blind and dizzy. Not only that, added with her skill to increase affliction rates only increases the chance those can successfully be applied and Black Propaganda is essential for players to control the tide of a many Ragnarok Advent event boss fights.

There are very few kamihime with a overdrive meter increase skill such as Ryu-Oh, so Mordred is essential for many players.
Very HighAndromedaHero's Salvation - Party heal.

Cursed Canting Chains -Party DEF↑

Resuscitation - Revive 1 unit.
Not everyone has a strong healer kamihime. Nike can only get you so far and may not work in your party because reasons such as elements and composition. Andromeda is there to fill that gap, bringing with her a strong single turn heal that also heals allies in raid battles. She also provides a resurrection skill and a DEF↑ skill to support your teams defense. Her entire soul tree is rather important in general as Vivian and Cassiopeia also have essential ex-skills to have ready.

There are several strong healers kamihimes, so if you happen to draw them, Andromeda's priority may drop down. In some cases, Cassiopeia may also provide more use than Andromeda if Chaos Magic is needed for dispelling enemy buffs, so if healing is not a missing factor in your team, unlocking up to Cassiopeia will be enough to suffice.
HighD'ArtagnanAll for One - Heal self, ATK/DEF↑ buff on self.

Snatch 3rd - Drop Rate↑

Sniper Shot - ATK/DEF↓ all enemies.
The sole purpose of getting D'Art is for her Sniper Shot attack. This is one of the most valuable ex skills to have for many players. Aside from that, she does not offer much else. If you have no problems clearing content on battle you can use her to try to increase your rate of getting more drops.

If you have a kamihime that provides a debuff as strong as Sniper Shot, Amaterasu for example, the priority of D'Art heavily drops to low/very low depending on the on-going event and your party composition. D'Art offers very little use aside from Sniper Shot.
HighJoan of ArcVoice of the Gods - Reduce all damage taken to party.

Orlean Call - Applies Regeneration and Double Attack Rate↑ to party.

Trial by Jury - Deals damage and applies ATK↓.
Her ability to mitigate damage is fantastic. Her Voice of the Gods skill reduces all damage by 40% and Trial by Jury can reduce the enemies attack by a whopping 20% for even more damage mitigation. Throw in her party regeneration skill, she becomes a great soul, providing a variety of utilities.

Do watch out for using dizzy on bosses with her, it can mess up timing on Voice of the Gods as it only lasts 1 turn.
MediumArthurMiracle Chalice - Charges own burst gauge to 100.

Absolute Monarchy - Deal 3~4x damage.

Avalon's Guidance - ATK↑ party.
Good damage and great for auto-battling with her consistent and stable damage. Being able to use her burst on the first turn only helps increase your entire parties' burst gauge in addition to her strong damaging skill and ATK↑ buff.

As with Solomon, both have a reduced Soul P cost to unlock.
LowSiegfriedDragon's Blood - Increase damage on stunned enemy.

Morale Boost - Party Mode Gauge reduction↑

Overdrive - Deals 4~5x damage on raging enemy.
Can deal a tremendous amount of damage if timed properly but provides none of the essentials needed for your party and has a near useless mastery bonus. Can be very difficult to use properly in raids with others due to latency/lag and other players using Siegfried going for the stun bursts.

Worst soul to use for auto-battling as all her skills have requirements to achieve proper use.
Very LowSolomonSpearhead Arrow - Deals 1~4.5x damage.

Solomon Ring - 6 randomly targeted attacks of each element.

Book of Raziel - Ability DMG↑
Unstable damage with no party or useful ex-skills. The only real reason to max her is for the mastery bonus.

Ex Skill Priority

Kamihime Project is a very debuff heavy based game, where in many cases, missing 1 or 2 certain debuffs can be the difference between winning or losing a fight. There are certain skills effects you should always try to have for difficult content and certain ex-skills you will want to have unlocked in case a future event calls for them. After obtaining your first legendary or two here are a list of some ex-skills and sorted in how much priority they have that you should aim for if you don't have someone in your party with it. You can assume if a ex-skill is not listed, it is not worth the use end game.

PrioritySkillEffectsSoulComments/Reasoning
Very HighSniper ShotAll enemies ATK/DEF↓ -20%, B-frameD'ArtagnanStrongest ATK/DEF↓ debuff via soul. Very few kamihime can replicate this effect, all being rare SSR units.
Very HighBlack PropagandaEnemy Overdrive Meter↑ by 1.MordredAn essential skill for many players to be able to control and handle Ragnarok Advent battles. Reduces the amount of time you will have to deal with boss overdrive attack.
HighChaos MagicRemoves 1 buff from enemy.CassiopeiaSome bosses have very strong buffs that heavily boost their ATK or DEF that you will want to remove immediately or wait til it wears off, which will most likely have lose your debuffs currently on the target.
HighMaiden's PrayerRemoves 1 affliction/debuff from each party memberVivianSome bosses have very dangerous debuffs that you will want to remove immediately, from the standard ATK↓ or DEF↓ debuffs to the dangerous afflictions such as preventing you from healing or even stopping your skill cooldowns.
HighTrial by JuryDeals damage and ATK↓, -20%, A-frame, to 1 enemyJoan of ArcIf you need an ATK↓ A-frame debuff and already have something in place of Sniper Shot or other B-frame debuff, you can use this.
HighAmbushDeals damage and DEF↓ -20%, A-frame, to 1 enemyGawainIf you need an DEF↓ A-frame debuff and already have something in place of Sniper Shot or other B-frame debuff, you can use this.
MediumSneak AttackAll enemies ATK/DEF↓ -15%, B-frameGranuaileWeaker version of Sniper Shot but stronger than Mordred's Outrage, in the case you don't have Sniper Shot yet or not using Mordred, you can use this as a temp.
MediumOrlean CallApplies Regenerate to party and Double Attack Rate↑Joan of ArcA way for your soul to heal your party if not using a healer type soul, in addition with an attack rate↑ bonus.
LowSoothing BreezeApplies Regenerate to partyRolandA lower tier version of Orlean Call, in the case you haven't unlocked Joan of Arc yet, or happen to want to use on Joan for 6 turns worth of regeneration. Regeneration buff can only be applied one at a time.
LowOverdriveDeals 4~5x damage on a single raging enemy.SiegfriedGot all your debuffs and/or just need additional damage? Strongest damaging ex-skill. Use only on enemies that are enraged, otherwise it will deal damage similar too that of a regular attack, making it the weakest.
LowAbsolute MonarchyDeals 3~4x damage on a single enemy.ArthurGot all your debuffs and/or just need additional damage? Strongest consistent non-situational damaging ex-skill. Great on auto-battles if you have no need for any other ex-skills.
LowAvalon's GuidanceATK↑ all 20%, A-frame.ArthurFairly common to have find kamihime with a party wide ATK↑ buff but in case you happen to not and have everything else needed, a good way to pump up some party wide additional damage and to use for a strengthening a full burst. Also boosts allies in raid.
LowEternal SerpentReduces enemy rage meter, -20% of current.GilgameshIn the scenario you encounter a boss with a very resilient rage meter that you need to push into stun where even your buffed full burst isn't enough. Make sure to use it before as it reduces the current amount of the rage meter.
LowRefined TacticsReduces damage taken once on self.OlivierThis skill effect stays on indefinitely until the buffed unit is hit, somewhat of a safeguard in case one is worried about their soul.
Very LowElemental CounselAbility DMG↑ 30%, A-frame.RosenkreuzAbility DMG↑ party wide buffs are somewhat uncommon, and may not make up for the difference in regular/burst that Avalon's Guidance also boosts, but in an attack skill heavy team, it may find use if paired with Arthur who comes with Avalon's.
Very LowDesertionAttacks all enemies and applies Double Attack Rate↓.AsmundWhile not a particularly amazing skill, if needed, can be helpful in clearing sets of trash mobs before bosses and in some cases, reducing double attack the may come in handy.
