View Full Version : Where/How do you get Flower Gems?

Could use some guidance or advice on Flower Gems please.

I started FKG about 2 weeks ago and was enjoying it until yesterday. I decided to attempt to collect 50 gems for a '10 + 1' pull. I got there, but I exhausted what I think is all my available sources of gems: Week 1 login bonus (worth 5), Special missions (worth 2), and 1 from all the lower-level missions that are smaller and easier to 3-medal.

So now I'm back to zero, and I don't see where the gems are going to come from. Week 2 login bonuses are only 1, special missions don't offer gems when they come back the next week, and the normal missions (I'm at about 12-3 now) take lots of tries to 3-medal and my team can barely clear them anyway.

Where do you get gems from here on out? I don't see it. I've read posts on this forum from people that say they've done 5-7 '10 + 1' pulls. Where are those gems coming from?

My '10 + 1' pull was a disaster, almost mathematically impossible actually. I'm on the fence on whether or not to give up on this game; the ease of getting back to 50 gems and give the game a chance to redeem itself will help me decide. Thanks.

Unfortunately, you can only slowly accumulate Flower Gems over time if you're not willing to pay for them. I'm at "end game" right now, so maxing out affection, daily bonuses, and 3-medaling all the event missions are the only way to make Flower Gems. Once in a blue moon, a flower gem might drop from gathering but don't count on it.

Ok, thanks for the timely response- appreciate it. Hoping I was missing something, because what I see and what you're describing sounds like about a 1 gem per day average at best, and I'm not willing to invest almost 2 months of time before another chance to upgrade my squad comes around.

Guess it's time to hang it up. Too bad, like I said I was enjoying the game but my squad needs better girls to continue and I feel like I earned an upgrade that didn't happen. If anyone has any recommendations for a good replacement game, Nutaku or otherwise, I'm all ears.

..You're stopping after two weeks?? Thats weird. "My squad needs better girls to continue;" they give you a crack at a new 5-star girl every two week period, and its pretty much a guarantee. I don't know what else you want. Again, "weird."

You also get a gem per girl whose affection you max out. Bang for a few minutes, get a flower gem.

Not to mention that sometimes the login card contains only flower gems so for those ten days you'll get one per day guaranteed just for logging in, but you'd have to have played for longer than two weeks to find that out. What's the rush? 12-3 is one of the best farming maps in the game, and until last week it was just two maps away from endgame. You say you need better girls...have you upgraded the ones you have? Have you evolved them? Have you maxed their affection? Have you upgraded their equipment? Given them ANY equipment? All of these things are within your reach if you've gotten to 12-3, but it takes time to work on it. I absolutely promise you that any map in the game is able to be cleared with 3* and 4* girls if you put in the effort required to help them achieve their potential. I still have 3* girls in my teams who outclass some of my 5*s, and though they are evolved, they are still really far away from max level.

It's not like you really need 5* girls to complete the game.

You can pretty much clear all stages with a full team of 3* as long they are properly equiped and upgraded. Not to mention that you can get 4* from the free gatcha seeds. And some 4* are really strong, such as Cepha Lanthera and Lilac. Also it's not like you will get much improvement from the 50 gems gatcha. Since the begin of the game, I got just a single 5* from it (and got it after clearing all the main stages) and never had any dificult to progress the game.

And last, but not least, you get a free 5* every two weeks from the events unless you skip them, wich you never should, since the events are also the main source of free flower gems.

So your reasoning of leaving the game 'because you can't upgrade your team" is pretty much nonsense.

I assume TS was referring to "upgrading my squad" as putting fancy fancy gacha only girls in his squads since he is already at 12-3. If that is the case, then he is out of luck unless he spends real cash. For me flower gems are just a luxury not a necessity. As Victor already said, You can clear the stages with a competent 3* team.

And also ive been playing this game since the beginning and ive only done my 1st 10+1 roll almost a week ago (I have itchy fingers so im having a hard time saving up to 50 gems and spent some on increasing character capacity since you'll need alot of space for stock piling manyus and bloom dragons for future upgrade/evolution) I already have enough 5* units which mostly consists of event girls to fill up 3 squads so 2 weeks in this game isn't enough play time to consider quitting unless you are impatient.

Guess I have to play the devil's advocate. The reason for playing a game does not rely on completion but satisfaction. The latter gradually drops as time goes. The only way to maintain is having more powerful character. Now,since a new character is guaranteed every 2 weeks and you can have at most 20 units active.Hence the "minimum lifespan" of the game is 40 weeks.
Given the fact that these event units are slightly weaker than most 5* units but stronger than everything you can have with the free gacha, had you been utterly unlucky, it is possible to halt entirely once you have 20 event units.

It is not too bold to say that it is gameover once you have 20 6*, and for the more hardcore players,2000 amps of each type, and for the whales, maxed skill and equip slot.My team formation has not changed much after a week I started and now, except a few more event units.Once that is exhausted, there is no more point in playing.(and yes,I acknowledge there would be second evolution and other features but if that serves as an argument, one may as well play the DMM version)

It seems to be missing out a lot if one quit, but the truth is the inherent limitation has made the game bound to be mundane given enough time. The factor of luck is and may be the only decisive factor in the game when it literally all depends on random note and gacha.

TL;DR
Be informed about the unavoidable fate of the game and decide if you are going down the road.

Point of this game is harem collection, so as long as you have new girls coming (that's it, new event every 2 weeks, there will not be game over, ever. ;)
Then, every event also means 17 FG (2x8 from maps and 1 from event girl) so every 3 events you will be able to try your luck in fishing somebody from ever-expanding roster of premium girls to expand your harem even more. Or, to do more rolls in lucrative promotions like guaranteed gold ticket one later.

But why collect past full gold / rainbow squad, you might ask? Ha, waifus are rewards on their own. If people can't see that, then this game is clearly not for them :p

Given the fact that these event units are slightly weaker than most 5* units[...]

What? Event girls being weaker? What you're talking about? You always get them with lvl5 skill and 4 equipment slots. How can that be inferior?

I am guessing he means some non event 5* have higher HP/ATK/DEF thresholds than their event counterparts.

Not to mention... Edelweiss, definitely one of the strongest 5* to put on any team.

Event Characters are weaker than the Gacha Golds, to make them still valuable. Event Characters have only the advantage of a maxed skill and all slots, something that cna be achievend in the long run for gacha characters. They made that change after implementing the first 3 Event Characters, being Lavender, Edelweiss and Mt. Lily.

ahhh so that explains why even star Lilly feels weak vs those 3

Lechenaultia is strong, though. Considerably stronger then some of my gacha golds.

Have to agree with Lechen being stronger then a fair wack of the gatcha girls.
But then the girls have never been balanced to be honest.
Toad Lilly is basically a 6* without the full atk, her defensive stats are actually higher then most 6*s right now.

As for getting flower gems... for FTP peeps they do come fairly often, about enough to do a 50 pull every 4-5 weeks.
That in itself is not terrible considering the price if you buy them.

All event girls are worse than non event 5* girls. Even Edeweiss has a flaw: her skill activation is 23% at lvl 5. This is inferior to many 5* girls at lvl 1.
In fact all girls with good stats (Edeweis, Lachenaltia and Lavender) have bad skill activation (23%), while the girls with lower stats has 30% activation.
When a non event girl has lower stats than a event girl, look at the skill activation and buffs to see where she overcomes them.

I have to say, you shouldnt quit the game because "Its difficult to have flower gems". Im f2p myself and i find this game really playable even with the difficulties of obtaining flower gems. I havent played this game too long time yet and yestarday i happened to gather 50 Gems. Once gettin to 50 u can already fill ur whole unit with high rare girls. And i have to remind that whole game is full of special events, and as by doing them u can exchange items for tier 5 girls by easy :) just an quick guide how to gain full tier 5 unit for f2p <3

(ps. im not havin full t5 due played just a month or a bit longer. But working hard for it)

Yeh it's not generous with the gems, but not TOO tight with them either

A 50 pull you work towards, and it means something - I just wish the odds on getting something good were better then 6.5% per pull, gold should be more like 10% IMHO

Just to add my own two cents (from a f2p perspective, at least): This game is not for everyone. If you're bored and have a few hours to kill, you're not going to say "oh let's play FKG for a while". It's a background game, you leave it running in another tab/window while doing other stuff. The fun/satisfaction gained from it is from getting a larger and larger roster, leveling and evolving and, er, "affection-ing" the ones you do have, and the occasional "omgwtf" shiny from a gacha.

These are all more long-term goals, so you need a certain amount of patience to enjoy them. If not, then there's nothing wrong with that. It's your free time; you should spend it doing stuff you want to do.

That being said though... Specifically on the topic of flower gems, I actually thought the same for a while. When I first started (a few months back), I was drowning in all the flower gems, but then quickly (as you have) hit the point where they start to dry up. And I thought "well I guess I won't be using gems much". Now, though...

* New event every 2 weeks, each with 16 gems, or 8 a week.
* Reissued event every 2 weeks, each with 2 gems, or 1 a week.
* Approximately 2 flower gems per week from the login (ignoring the login cards with nothing but gems).

That's 50 gems every 4-5 weeks, 100% guaranteed, once your teams are strong enough to 3-medal the event 80 maps. Factor in the occasional affection flower gems, the nothing-but-gem login cards, and the odd reward of gems from gathering or whatever, and you can do a 10+1 pull once a month on average.

So if you decide to stay, that needs to be your mindset. You've hit the point where you need to buckle down and get stronger teams, pump up your helper squad to get better friend requests, max out your best five-star (because if I recall that affects how powerful the friend teams are), and getting into the routine of trying to clear (if not medal) the event maps. You've passed the "easy at the start" hook. It's a bit of a hump to get over, before things start getting easier again, but it's more than possible.

This is a good post. After a while, you get to a point where the only missions worth doing are the 80 Stamina bonus missions for the extra Life Crystals etc., and that is not many moves/clicks per hour.

I have started playing X Overd and that is the reverse, they feed you so much stamina and raid points that you can spend hours on the game (especially since the fight animations are so slow). I am at Rank 82 and there is so much to do if you re-equip squads for Raid Bosses and map runs.
