So, I just noticed this was in the forum's shop and wanted to use it but I'm having trouble finding a non-terrible site that enables me to upload a mp3 for it to stream. Does anyone know one that can handle this?

I just googled it and found https://picosong.com/ and https://www.filedropper.com/.

Thanks for the answer. :)

I tried both sites (never had heard about picosong, it does look useful), but it seems they don't support direct mp3 streaming. Picosong, like most of the current audio streaming websites uses a html player. Almost all places I've found so far use that (and one had an 1mb limit which made it pointless to check).

If you inspect the page you can grab the URL for the .mp3. But whether this URL remains consistent over time is another question.

I tried doing that but I got a message close to this "missing info in mp3 address". So I think that URL, despite ending in .mp3 still doesn't direct to the raw file.

I would test it myself but I don't have profile music. It is the .mp3 file since it downloads when I go there.

I-It is aliv- ... works!

First, thanks for the help again MiqDoloran! I was almost giving up on this before that post.

Well, I found out what I was doing wrong.

When you inspect the page with their player you can get a url that looks like this: _http://picosong.com/static/swf/picoplayer.swf?file=/cdn/593fec906d72773026ef961995fe1294.mp3- It won't work as it has the picoplayer.swf player tagged meaning its not really only the song. Of course I was too blind to notice that the first time. To get the raw mp3 you have to click on download, and then copy the link on the "click here to download your file" button. That is the raw mp3.

Another important info. It uses Dewplayer which, if I remember correctly, is pretty old and that means it has some vintage issues. The main problem is that it has a hard time handling anything but low quality mp3. I only got it to work without hickups using a MP3 (LAME) v8 format (mp3 85kbps). There is the possibility that the file size is what makes it buggy but I find that to be unlikely and I'm too lazy to test that now. Also it doesn't autoplay the song.

Wouldn't surprise me since a bunch of stuff is really old around here, hell the default board skin says vBulletin 2.0.

Unfortunately the mp3 link is dynamic, so it breaks after a few hours... :(

You can try with Google Drive apparently (http://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/65763/how-can-i-hotlink-an-mp3-in-google-drive-with-a-url-ending-in-mp3) but ymmv. I tried the first solution but didn't work. Tried with second/third and it did start playing the file.

Thanks for the info. :)

Apparently Google Drive host mode was shut down on 08/31 and the other way results in a link that doesn't end with a .mp3 which the forum's script unfortunately does not recognize (it does play in browser if I use the link).

I wonder what will happen to me first, a static mp3 link or a rainbow in FKG? :p
