Anyone know what the timetable is that Nutaku is following? I've noticed that DMM has added a whole lot of things to the game, from UI redesign, to events, sometimes multiple events overlapping each other. Seeing how Nutaku just decided to kick Kanpani Girls to the curb without saying anything, I'm wondering if Nutaku's business model is to just release the games as is, followed by a 6 month period of actual content, then moving on to other titles. If they continue to do this, then in the long run, they're going to lose a lot of customers quickly, and end up just selling porn to make money (not like we need another porn site ... so many already on the internet)

That wouldn't be a smart decision by nutaku cause porn is everywhere on the Internet and i think nobody is paying for porn. There are many Porn Sites for free. If they want there game healthy and make Money from Whales they should following the Event Pattern they are using right now. It makes more Money in the long run. If they are smart... We shall see...

I'm not worried about the fact that they have events ... what I'm worried about is that the content is coming in at a slower pace than when DMM was doling it out for the JP gamers. Having additional content, more events, and adding things like "private residence with furniture" options only serve to generate more interest, and not just for whales, but hooking in the gamers and to continue supporting the game. If interest remains high, you can get new gamers, as well as more incentives for people to spend money (if they so choose)

Right now, with what they did to Kanpani Girls, which is arguably doing well in Japan, not so much here, I have little faith Nutaku will actually bother with the new additions. I think the people that run the company are doing so for a very limited time, say a few years, and hope some VC or another company pays millions to acquire them, and the original founders can retire in luxury.

Since I've yet to see them follow through on actually keeping games going, meh. They're really dependent on JP devs, and I don't see them getting out of that. Their own content teams are absolute :shit:

Its me (Myrdin), posting this from work though so cant log in: Wait, what happened to Kampani Girls ? I stopped playing that game after few months, and did notice some rummors like no new content is being updated, no events are coming out (so its pretty much the basic husk of the game, with the few events it got in the beginning and thats it).

Well from what I have seen other poeple post, to a different degree this seems to happen to many other Nutaku games, from one that completely freezes the game in time, to others that just take 4ever to get some new content released.

The question would be like - ok so lets say the well dries out - they stop pumping DMM updates on the Nutaku version of FKG - what then ? like you get the basic campaign and thats it ? Or will those event that have been released so far until that point be re-used again and again in a loop ? (that would be the better version, at least you would be able to gather the Fgems, and sooner or later hopefully get most of the girls through pure RNG, but if they freeze the game, with just the main campaign, then you are done - cant get anymore Fgems, other than through purchase, which means you are legitimately stuck, since there is no other way for you to progress in the game with at least trying to collect the girls that have been released so far.) Or something like that..

I do hope not. I like the game way too much for it to be frozen. It is one of the best games Nutaku have been able to get their hands on. The only thing that can top it off would be Aigis getting more updates and Kancolle.

We're past the six month period of FKG, and this is the only Nutaku game (out of the ones I've played) that actually looks like it's steadily improved. Constant event schedule, several features earlier than expected, some features DMM doesn't even have, and currently coming up, revivals and switching event order to make it fit the season.

It's in good shape right now. I'd rather not jinx it into saying that it'll go the Aigis/Kanpani route, but it doesn't look that way at all.

The main complaints don't involve a lack of content, but the priority in getting the side content or fixing the more minor details. Like how we're lacking in story/character quests, or how launch girls still use the names nobody likes (Orchid vs Oncidium), or how a bunch of h-scenes still randomly switched to third-person, etc. But all that probably stems from a lack of manpower. Hopefully they get around to fixing those in the future, but things will likely get busier from here on out.

Oncidium is the only one who got name changed huh? Kind of weird when everyone else keep the "dium"s.

What about Flowering Peach? I still want better name than that.

Flowering Oeach's name in the DMM version is Hanamomo while her cousin Peach is Momo

There were other name changes, but Oncidium is the one that most people prefer get reverted. There are some others like Rose Diana that are incorrect (should be Royal Princess), Cactace which (apparently) sounds silly, and so on.

There's also girls like Canola or Mei Plumblossom that are technically correct, but purists might still prefer Field Mustard/Rapeseed or Ume. I'd hope Nutaku doesn't revert those names, at least.

It is technically correct but she should have better name than "Flowering".

Eh, I personally okay with Rosa Diana since it is a name instead of calling her "Royal Princess". Same case with Mei and Canola. I prefer to call her Canola that rather than "Rapeseed".

Same case with recent girls like Justicia instead of "Flamingo Plant" and Gardenia instead of "Cape Jasmine".

There are some others like Rose Diana (http://harem-battle.club/wiki/Flower-Knight-Girl/FKG:Rose-Diana) that are incorrect (should be Royal Princess). It is actually perfectly correct name for "Rosa Diana Princess of Wales" (https://www.dobbies.com/products/plants/rosa/rosa-diana-princess-of-wales/), Rose named after Lady Diana

...Fun thing is, there's another "Diana Princess of Wales" (http://www.rosesalesonline.com.au/diana-princess-of-wales-hybrid-tea-rose/) rose, pink in colouring. Oh well.

Honestly, I prefer ALL english names over their Japanese counterparts. I mean, "Flamingo Plant"

I've heard of her referred to as 'Peach Blossom,' which seems perfect to me.

What's in a name?
Rose no longer smelled like Rose after I did her. :D

I'm fairly certain I heard that that flower is not the same one, but I won't pretend to be an expert on this.

Cactace was Saboten in Japanese which is quite literally the Japanese name for Cactus. Cactace is derived from Cactaceae which is the scientific name for the Cactus family. The change makes a lot of sense to me on that one.

My limited knowledge of Japanese seems to tell me that Flowering Peach is an accurate translation then. There's a high chance of me being wrong though.

You are not wrong. Flowering Peach or Flower Peach is direct translation of Hanamomo. Personally, I would like if Nutaku named her as Prunus Persica or Persica, give or take since Peach name is already used for her cousin.

Or rather, how about keeping her name as Hanamomo anyway? It seems cuter and fitting :P
