I haven't been able to find the answer to the extremely important question ANYWHERE including on all the noobie guides out there.

So, I have like 10 Archer Somas.

If I combine my level 50 one with my other 9, Her unit cost will decrease by quite a bit however lucky I get. If I'm wrong on this please correct me.

HOWEVER, does this CR carry over after Class Evolution? Did I just waste 9 silvers for nothing? I haven't been able to find the answer ANYWHERE. Do I have to Evolution all my Somas and then combine them?

No, cost reduction carries over after CC.

You would only combine CC'd copies if the base character's level changes with CC (which only applies for silver dragon soldier Gadoras and gold+ units), in order to level the base character's skill.

The only thing you need for cost reduction is a copy of the unit. Level doesn't matter.

Eab answered the question but I'd like to add that if you are fairly new, do NOT spend to many silvers trying to CR them. They are used for CC and AW fodder (archers are one of the more popular ones at that).

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I'll probably use 2 at most for the 100% CR. I'm assuming for skills it's different since the skills change? So you could get 5/5 Double Shot but as soon as you CC it would revert to 1/5 Triple Shot?

Its better not use them to cr/su tbh, for first month at least. Most of our soma got eaten by a gold+ as an aw fodder, better focus on bashira instead.

Yes. So it's pointless to level pre-CC skills unless it doesn't change post-CC. (or you're weird and don't CC the unit at all)

Fortunately, Silvers don't change skills like that, but Golds do, so it might be good idea to 30CC (that is, level up to 30 and then Class Evolve immediately) a fodder copy before feeding it to CC'd main to get most of a combine. Of course, said 30CC technique is strictly for fodder) For Platinums that do change skills, it is not worth it to evolve fodder due to needing 3 silvers for that.

And when we are at it, Awakening does nothing to unit's skill. Skill Levels won't change, skill itself won't change, nothing happens.
Some time in the future they will add Skill Awakening, separate from simple Awakeninig, that is used to turn maxed-out skill of an previously Awakened unit into some another skill, that have no levels to worry about)

Generally speaking, if the skill is on a silver unit not named Gadoras, you don't have to worry about the skill changing.
If the skill is a on a Gold unit and has a number (Example: Increase Heal I like on Iris), you can be pretty sure it will change after CC (to II for Iris, which is considered a different skill)
If the skill has a special name with no number (Magic Shells on the Gold Zola, nearly all event platinum units, princesses, etc.) you can be pretty sure it won't change after CC.
