Kamihime Project R Level Break Question

OK maybe this will be more obvious later on in the game, but to save myself the wonder I'll ask now.

So to those that played the JP version, is this one of those games where you loose stats if you break limit/rank up too early?

Negative.

All you do is increase the level cap and, in some cases, improve certain abilities. (The passive abilities of most Eidolons will improve with each upgrade, for example.)
