Good timeofaday, brave Princes! There's thankfully still no stopping our event train so far, but it sure likes to jump the stations) And now we once again skipping ahead over one event to receive another first. Fortunately, this event is a Star Trial, for the our second Swordmaster!
So let's witness The Deadly Sword That Shook The Earth!

This is a Star Trial event. You will obtain event unit after event ends if you scored well enough during it's duration. Unit's level, skill level and cost depends on the number of stars you managed clear event maps for.

Introducing the (Earth) Swordswoman Gloria a Platinum rarity Swordmaster. Her class is defined by their special (Sword) Skills, and Skill that Sandra possesses is "Ougi: Rock-Crushing Sword" "Secret skill: Rock Cleaver", that clears the earth around her from trash (and damages rest heavily). Specifically, upon skill activation she slams her sword into the rock, and raises rock spikes under every enemy in her range, that hits earthbound enemies extra-hard. Do note, that unlike Sandra, Gloria's skill deals physical damage. Outside of her skill, she is a decent, if unremarkable and pricey duelist. Awakening greatly increases her HP (on top of regular gains from extra levels). Skill Awakening, whenever it hits our shores (it is quite recent feature at DMM for her class), gives her permanent x1.5 to defense once (no super-attack for this activation) before switching to her regular skill for the remaining map duration. All in all, Sandra, as all other Swordmasters, exists for her skill, and is as useful as good one can utilize said skill. So her use would require building the strategy around it, and careful timing its activations for most effect, but in exchange it provides quite a shock to a great number at enemies at once. So make sure to get as many skill levels for her as possible!

This Star Trial so expect some trouble) Still, it should be easier than "Maze of the Demon King" was, so if you cleared that, you should be able to clear this event as well. Of notable thing is return of our favorite fatass Greater Demon and his EQUAL 5000 attack. This time he brought his running shoes, so at the first encounter he will revive when killed and start to speed through your formation. G-tier versionS are running from the get go and has twice as much health to compensate for the lack of revival trick. Tankfully, you don't need to kill them to get 3* clear. Would require some tricky swap or gatekeeper usage tho... Anyway, prepared to receive such rush, either by Immortal Karma, tokens or, if you rolled ranger, traps.

This event is also should be featuring Yurina as both completion reward and a drop on her own featured map, complete with dialogue and all. But as we all know, for us Yurina does not exist, so it is interesting to see how devs would weasel out of the hole they dug themselves in...

Combined with all the jazz their class have (0-block and all-around AoE on skill use, recovery of UP on kill, increased refund on retreat) it makes for a very powerful ramper (that AoE swing can reap quite a number of UPs in one go as it decimates the swarm of gobs, for example) and gatekeeper. And black level stats support it all nicely)

Good work with the early guide! It looks lovely and even better, organized. I just did Gloria's revival on DMM and it shouldn't be to difficult for most people here, though there are a couple of swarm/rush maps that are a little tricky at first.

Also, under "Comments about the event" the last line "...there's a SPIRIT QUEEN famable on map 7!". "Famable" ? I think you meant "farmable" :).

Screwed up on Guidance due to bad placement and getting my Marr nuked by goblin axes.

Determined Swordswoman was a blind-run 3* clear, though got really messy due to bad placement of Elizabeth/Iris. Had to panic drop Karma on a scythe bastard and Berna managed to hold out against the revived Greater Demon (while Cuterie stalled him for quite a while prior), but there were still too many demons and I grudgingly used Cellia as a lightning rod.

I actually found myself forced to improvise for the last 2 G maps because my ranged unit DPS goes way over the video demonstrations so in A Determined Swordswoman (G) the greater demon went into fast mode at point C and forced me to early deploy Memento. Luckily it also allowed me to totally trash the demon column so that I didn't even need a defender on the road after taking out the greater.

Demons and Hellhounds got tricky since everyone on the road had to get yanked or pounded flat in two instances...and ultimately took out one greater while the other one snickered at me panicking to have my valks and prince flee in terror. still managed to make it work though...barely...never thought I'd put up a 0-affection Aria against an Orthus for the sake of stalling...

Yeah, yeah, "stop using the videos and just wing it", I'm sure, but to each his/her own, seriously.

Anyway, I look at this guides as reference and a gist of what's in store for me and also because I need every stamina to count being a freeplayer n' all :D. Sometimes the guides will not work for you so you have to tweak it to fit your team (one time I had to combine 2 guides just to get a 3*)

Only manged 18 of the 27 stars so far. Not bad but no good either. The Yeti and Demon maps are rather annoying. Also, I see a lot of guides using Memento but I don't have her since I was away from a computer during the event. Is there a good or decent substitute for her that a freemium user would have?

memento is used mostly for her tokens. Right now all the units that have tokens other then her are premium , and the ones i can think of now are agness , mikoto and fuuka (but fuuka's is different since she summons traps rather then skeletons)

There's also Berna, who turns all rogues into tokens upon awakening, bit then again... :p

Technically Pupuru also brings tokens to the party, but since hers are a) ranged slot, and b) stealthed, so won't draw enemy fire, using them as one would use other tokens is impossible.

Should bring out the bronze soldier army :D But then again it's very tricky since you have to withdraw them before they get hit.

I have Berna and she is pretty nice as well (in more ways than one) but awakening is a bit steep for now, I still have no awakened units and I nearly got Spica. An embarrassed player is embarrassed. And true, Druid tokens are more support than anything else.

Bronze soldiers would be a go to solution on easier maps with early rushes but 1) they are rather weak and won't last long, 2) from what I've seen they bide time for stronger, more expensive units to come out, 3) the amount one would need would take up too much space, and 4) being that they're weak and this game's history of ever so slightly lagging when clicking a unit, they would die before they do anything meaningful or withdrawing as you mentioned.

Oh dear, it seems their is no proper unit to take up a token user's place and a Memento revival is a long ways away. Hell even the merchant class will take a while to get here. So it seems I have to pray to get Agnes, Mikoto, or try to get Metus when her event comes, which may take even longer (and she is
certainly something to look at).

Well I'll just try to get as much as I can, if only A Determined Swordswoman didn't only have 1 heart, I mean who comes up with that with all those demons running around?!

You are very much correct. It seems I missed it. My question for Memento was more of a round-about since I see her used a lot. As for the guide itself, I do have units in the works to match it as best I can. The only problem is cost. Ah, my eternal problem with this game haha!

I also did the map without using Memento or stalling the greater demon at all (and my ranged dps isnt THAT great - its not bad though). Its doable

And done with the event, with the final map being a cakewalk due to the very first event unit I got, Rika. Even at 50CC1, maxcost, skill level 1 she was enough to deal with the shadows, once Nanaly dealt with the first two Orthus.
Now back to farming dailies while waiting to see if we'll get any revivals next week.

Well as you said you were lucky to have had a lot of health with the Yeti's. By virtue of that all you have to do is simply remove your units quick enough to get the secound star. With A Determined Swordswoman you only have 1 heart so the other option is to kill all of the enemy units which given there stats and sheer amount on the map would be difficult. The flip side is that you are guaranteed to have a 2-star run as getting one star is impossible.

Given this I would focus on the Yeti's more as it seems more doable. The Excess Demon map for me failed completely but you may have more luck and better units for it.

kay after playing all 3 G maps

I might be able to 3 star the Determined Swordswoman as long as Im quick to withdraw, stupid black demon bombing lance

demon and hounds - not good at timing or withdraw but for some reason I ran out of units and they kill things fast or too slow compared to the vids

snow map - fuck da yetis and black demons - I could 3 star it or 2 star it

at 25 stars

If your Rika is leveled enough, she should be able to take the first two dogs on her own. When the demons approach her, activate her skill, thus she doesn't block them. Use your ranged attackers to take out whatever approaches.

Although the event isn't over yet, I'm pretty much done with it as I'll be using my stam to farm moment crystals.

I managed to get 28 stars by 2 staring the last two hard maps so I'm getting a perfect event unit. I'll try for 3 stars next reboot. I finally got a copy of Naynia for my collection too.
