I'm a relatively new player. Only a couple of days have passed since I first started. Only recently have I learned that I wasn't supposed to be using silver units for combinations. I've used almost all of the silver units that I'm not currently using as level fodder. I've received all of the completion rewards through Tower Overwatch, and all of the strategy lesson bonuses as well. Should I start over? I wouldn't be able to receive the reward for the Feng Shui event, I fear, and I already spent a small sum of money on the game.

Well , silvers are replaceable (most events drop silvers for example. This event alone can drop like 7 different silvers - not necesarily the most general use silvers , but still) , so no...there is no permanent damage (as long as you didn't cc-ed your gold+ units at level 30 instead of 50).

Also , silvers have a pretty decent chance to drop even in 2k gold summons (around 3% chance). Generally speaking , 100 draws will reliably give you 3-4 silver units , and it's not that costly (200k). Sure , for a newbie account , that's quite a lot , but the point is that there are plenty of other ways to aquire silvers.

That being said , this IS going to slow down your progress , mostly because most platinum+ units require 3 silvers to cc , instead of 2 irons and 1 silver. For example , to class change Bashira , u will require 3 silver archers (and the spirit ofc). COmpare that to soma , which requires 1 silver archer and 2 iron archers.

Other then that , if you want to awaken a unit , you will be required to use 3 CC-ed silvers (or a gold , but it's not recomanded). That means to awaken a unit like....let's say bashira , you will need 3 silvers to class change (CC for short) her , and then another 6 to awaken her. Thats 9 silvers on 1 unit alone , so it's generally better not to waste them randomly

Ofc , awakening units is months away for your right now , unless you decide to invest some serious money in the game.

TLDR : as long as you didn't screwed with your gold+ units (aka class changing them earlier then level 50) , your account is not screwed. But you're going to progress slower a bit for a while

While using the silvers you get from completion is quite a waste it's not the end of the world.

All the silvers are (more or less) plentiful from events so you'll eventually get them back.

More importantly, make sure to not class evolve below max level for units you want to keep as those stats are lost forever.

Imo no need to restart, but be careful in the future. :D

OP Here, got account. Okay, phew. I'm glad I'm not totally crippled. I was so ready to completely start over. Glad to see I don't. I can handle not progressing as fast. I'm a patient man.

Well , that's the thing with aigis. You've gotta be patient....and plan ahead. A lot of units change their uses after AW and SAW , and some that are not that great can become good. It's better to ask around when you're not sure. This forum has plenty of veterans capable of helping. Also the wiki is a good source of info as well

Amen to the above tips

just don't go CC Katie or Bashira too early since you only get one

Did you roll anything good on your first two premium Shrine pulls (after Bashira)? There's a legit strategy centered on obtaining 10 SC as quickly as possible, using them up in the Shrine and outright restarting the account if it didn't get them a Black rarity unit (or at least one of more broken Platinum ones). Of course, depending on your luck it will require A LOT of restarts, but the sheer carry that broken units can provide may outweigh that. Still, not a strategy for everyone, and ultimately not that needed, as, indeed, most of the game can be cleared with silvers and free event / TP higher rarity options.
