Yes... yes you can do that. And not only that.
The Crafting is not exactly deep atm, but recently they added some more stuff that allows you to evolve personal equipment (each girl has a 5th equip slot for a unique item only she can use) to be evolved same like you evolve girls. So they are certainly improving the mechanic step by step.
ATM you can upgrade 3 lvl5 manyu into 1 lvl20 manyu (saving space while maintaining the efficiency anyone?). Or you can upgrade your low tier equip seed for mid grade, and mid grade for high grade (yes a new line of items has been introduced.)

The crafting does not cost any gold, all you need is the items you use as materials for crafting and you can craft them straight away.

They start out weaker then mid grade, but have better lvl up stats so once maxed out they are stronger.
But you do the High grade equp. gacha to see if you`ll get lucky and get an item with "EX" in its name. those give one of 4 (I believe) passive bonuses like Bonus crit damage, bonus def when Guarding, and something else.

Are helpers weakened in this event? My main squad is 105K power and it does noticeably more damage than any of the helper groups I tried, and I'm pretty sure there are much stronger ones in there.

Put two high speed squads at the bottom, and 3 slow squads at the top (like 600+ vs 400-ish).

it will be a bit harder to get thru the lvl 50 boss thou. the lvl 20 boss was the first i needed 20 neckties. but the rewards for beating the bosses aren't bad:

The damage on the boss is permanent, so if you fail, your next attempt would be against a boss with considerably less health. (Last night, I accidentaly used my nation-battle unit against one of these bosses, and miserably failed, lol)

Farmed for a few days, check the event page... 900ish neckties. Burn my way down until I have enough currency to buy out the entire trade shop for both phases... still have like 500 neckties left, on maybe the level 28 raid boss.

In completely unrelated news, Russelia's chibi idle animation is oddly satisfying, how she bounces back and forth. Might be the first time I like an idle animation more than the main art itself. (Not that it's bad, per se, I just really like the chibi one.)

It's just annoying the skip button is active for the whole encounter, instead of on every fight like it was from the previous event of the same kind, even if it was a bug...

It's just annoying the skip button prevent gathering of Shine Crystals at the end of each fight. And even more annoying, fight auto-end occur BEFORE Solar Blast at the end of the turn. So, it still use all the shine crystals but does no damage.

I do collect some shine crystal when I skip, but it's noticably less. But, that isn't the worst part. Some of my squads collect so many crystals, that on a skip, the game simply gets stuck on the collecting sound and crashes. When I restart, any neckties used are gone, but the boss didn't lose a single point of health.
So I have to keep every single boss fight running in slomo.

Well that s a side effect. Main reason for repeating the mission are the Life Crystals. The shop should "officially" re-stock at the end of the month, but since this is Nutaku, add at least 2 extra weeks to that.

Oh I didnt even notice there were additional rewards for the higher lvl bosses. Might be worth checking back on the event. You know - from testing it, you can lvl up a girl up to lvl 40 just using ampys at a pretty solid rate. Saving up on a lot of money in the process.
After that they give good exp only if they are the same type as the girl.
Thats how I lvled up Soapworth on my DMM account, 1-40 approx, then manyus, then evolution, then ampys again, then manyus, then blooming then ampys again :D

So something odd is going on; I noticed last night that I was two sets of ampies short of what I should have earned. Just now, starting with 528 neckties, I use 60 (3 sets of 20) to kill the L.50 boss...but afterwards I now have 408 neckties. Somehow it used double the amount than should have been the case. It depends on the helper squads for me. With a few helpers, e.g., Hungry Hunter, Siloya and Kagami I can consistently do 3.5-3.9 million damage on a 20 Necktie attack so I can clear the boss with 3x20. Other helpers I am getting 3-3.5 million and so I try and make sure I get two whacks in with one of those three helpers, or a non-ally helper with around 90K+ total power in their helper squad.
