Giving non favorite gifts?

I only need 2 girls to max and was wondering if giving someone a gift that's not there favorite affect anything or is it the line shes says after getting the gift.

Yes if you give them a fav gift they say one thing, if you give them a non fav gift they have a different line. Other then that it's the amount of love % you get that changes and nothing else. I used to give non fav gifts to get the daily out of the way and not lvl affection too fast... then I got a whole lot of extra girls and now I don't need to use non fav gifts.

it has no negative effect. only reason to stick with favorites is it's twice as fast. if you have gifts but no one has those as favorite then giving them non favorite is fine.
