Having heard a few times that there's no DEF down cap in Nutaku version yet. But AFAIK, the DEF down cap is always there in DMM version, it's only the ATK down cap that came much later.
So I run this little test, for this matter is important when using type C debuff.

1st run: 65% DEF down from Amon, D'art and Cthulhu.
6950

2nd run: 50% DEF down from Ambush, Mordred and Cthulhu.
6951

Clearly, the DEF down is capped at 50%.

We never tested the DEF down cap because we didn't have the necessary characters to test it. Do note however that Nutaku has introduced events out of sequence, and early implementation of caps could have come along for the ride (others have shown that related engine updates that were introduced with the caps are now in effect). There's no guarantee that there was a DEF down cap before your test today, nor even that ATK down is still uncapped.

Nutaku's haphazard approach to events / content updates, combined with their inability to communicate the changes they're implementing (if they even understand what they're doing to begin with...), is deeply frustrating to those like me who rely on stable game mechanics to model game systems, form strategies, and write guides for others. I'm simply not willing to redo experiments every month or so just to verify that Nutaku hasn't messed with fundamental mechanics without telling anyone.

And now that Caspiel is out, it'd be nice if somebody who has the necessary Hime could test the atk down too.

you are expecting too much from someone, who just hosts a game. :D
