Just curious what the small box on the right side of the main menu, below the affection system box, is?

The Aigis wiki should be able to help you out.

There is a small light blue symbol under the affection one called "Fame"
It's like a monthly gatcha that can be used only once per month and increases your chances the more daily/weekly/monthly objectives you complete.
