Question about 3 star event weapon

Hey, I finally saved up enough to buy the last cope of the wind sword to fully max it out but the store says that I cannot buy since I already have reached the limit I can buy. Is this meant to happen? If so why is it even an option to be able to keep buying it if you need to get lucky with a plat chest? Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.

I bet your inventory is full from the Union event. Make space in your inventory and you shouldn't have problems.
