I'm confused how the whaleship helper total power works.

For instance, my helper team (username jdom2) shows as having 178k total power.

But among my allies, no one comes close. Only one ally (Flonnezilla) has a shown help power exceeding 100k. Taon (who I see post here occasionally) has a helper team that is close to 100k. Several allies that I would expect to have very powerful helper teams seem to have numbers like 80k.

I assume that the number you see is not the number your ally sees. But which number is used in the actual performance of the whaleship?

Do you just pick the highest number and go with it?

Your team's number includes stats from affection, ampies and equipment while the helper number doesn't. The actual performance from the helper includes all of those so you can only guess who's the strongest available.

helper numbers include Ampies just not affection or equipment, at least that's the common consensus.

Here's my main team:
8783

Here's how I see your helper team:
8784

So, you can see that a lot doesn't get counted. The number actually used is what you see, not what the team owner sees; at least as far as whaleship TP contribution goes. For actual performance...I don't know; coordinated testing would be needed, but I suspect that it's likely what you see as well.
