With the new class system (hardcore>know-how>charm>hardcore) it will be important how specialties are distributed as to min-max you want to beat the specialty that has the highest abundance. With three specialties you would think that they are evenly distributed - to check I just chose 5 random pages (5x sample size of 100) on tower of fame and OVER 50% of people have the hardcore specialization (in total ~270+ out of 500 people) on all of those pages which either was extremly lucky or the specialties are indeed unevenly distributed.
If this is true indeed, everyone with know-how specialization has bad luck and everyone with charm will have an advantage over most of the player base.

So if you happen to have gear for multiple specializations it is time to reroll to charm as this will give you a MUCH higher winning chance in arena then any other specialization - for the same reason you do not really want to be know-how specialist.

for whatever reason they decided to make charm beat strength and strength beat knowlege - it should be the other way around, knowledge>strength>charm>knowledge

If know-how is "paper", hardcore is "rock", and charm is "scissors"? Yeah, you're right... (Guess the game takes place in a universe where scissors slice through rock, rock rips through paper (granted, realistically that one could be a valid result instead of the standard Rock Paper Scissors rule that "paper wraps around rock"), and paper breaks scissors.)

Let's see, though... In the screenshot in the patch notes for this upcoming change their choice of words is that:
hardcore pressures know-how
know-how surpasses charm
charm softens hardcore

So they're saying that... Know-how is beaten when presented with a new kink that it hasn't tried before. Charm is beaten when the more knowledgeable do the same thing as them but with superior technique. And hardcore is beaten when a charmer convinces them to drop the kink in favor of something more intimate.

... Honestly, I think the way they set it up the correct comparison is that hardcore is "scissors" and charm is "rock", not the other way around.

When the game was launched, only hardcore specialty was available, hence why there is a disparity in each specialty distribution.

I think the "specialty wheel" is a cool concept and totally down for it. Let's just hope the match up for battles in the arena is distributed equality instead of matching you up with your opposite specialty over and over again.

Thats what I thought. But this makes the entire rps system overly stupid for the reasons I described above

Did they make it possible to lose mojo? because I think I lost some, did I miss that in the patchnotes?

I seem to recall reading in Discord chat for HH that you do lose Mojo, if you lose a battle. I don't think it was mentioned in patch notes, though.

that would literally be the most retarded change of them all - and they did quite a few that were beyond questionable

EDIT: I just tested it - you do lose mojo if you lose in arena! what a joke

I'm mostly getting opponents with very low stats, but I've mostly been ignoring pvp before so my mojo is only at ~30k. Does that make me get matched with weaker opponents (despite them being around my level)?

not quite sure as it seems to seed you against your rank mostly, for me it is pretty much exlusively +/- 20 level range with a higher concentration around my level

Awesome, all the rules of the game should be accessible in the game and no stupid surprises like that. I just saw it by coincidence.
