View Full Version : How does the buff abilities work? (How does it choose girls)

When it comes to abilities that say "3 girls including yourself" or "4 girls including yourself" etc.

Which girls does the ability choose? i am trying to make sense of it since it seems counter intuitive, here's an example:

https://i.harem-battle.club/images/2018/03/11/Juz.jpg

This is a team i made to check how it stacks damage.
Cattleya 27% ATK for 3 including yourself
Toad lily 15% ATK for 4 girls including yourself
Dahlia 10% ATK for all girls
Oncidium 10% ATK for all girls
Dayflower 10% ATK for 3 girls including yourself

Cattleya (27% (cattleya) + 15% (toad lily) + 10% (dahlia) + 10% (oncidium) + 10% (dayflower) = 72%)
Toad lily (15% (toadlily) + 10% (day flower) + 10% (oncidium) + 10% (dahlia) = 45%)
Dahlia (27% (cattleya) + 15% (toad lily) + 10% (oncidium) + 10% (dahlia) = 62%)
Oncidium (27% (cattleya) + 10% (oncidium) + 10% (dahlia) = 47%)
Dayflower (15% (toad lily) + 10% (dayflower) + 10% (oncidium) + 10% (dahlia) = 45%)

As you can see the buffs are all over the place so it's hard to predict which girls are going to get the buff when you're building a team.

And to make things even more confusing heres what happens when theres only one buff on different orders

Does anybody know how it actually works?
I always thought it chose the 2 or 3 nearest girls or the next 2 or 3.

It's random, only the girl giving the buff is guaranteed to be one of the recipients of the buff as well.

I always thought it was the team order.

My own observations have been that the buffs are, except for the source, randomly determined.

RNG as far as i know

Yep agreed, RNG all the way. I've seen this happen with a full team of 4 inc self, had one girl reach over +100% a few times but more often than not they stayed at 70%ish each tho a few times I also had one with 20-30% only.

I have now moved away from girls that are not team wide buffs as much as possible for the sheer unreliability of them on a team scale.

I lean towards Knights with squad-wide attack buffs but I'll use Knights with bonuses that also affect 1/2/3 squad members depending on the total attack power boost given. Toad Lily in particular springs to mind; she only boosts three of her four squadmates but +15% attack power with no strings attached is still solid (and she's my second favorite Knight :silly: ).

If I had Black Baccara I'd consider using her alongside Kerria just for those rare occasions where the RNG pairs them together for +70% attack power before the other three squad members are factored in.

Same here. Gladly, those buffs that only affect 2 or 3 squad members become pretty uncommon for 5* girls obtained from Gacha (while it is pretty common for event girls) and almost non-existant for Rainbow girls. Even if the buff for 2-3 squad members tends to be higher than a similar buff for all members, I rather have Alpinia with a guaranteed +20 ATK buff than a flaky 30% ATK buff.

I don;t mind the 4/5 girls buffed so much, it's the less than 4 buffed that I find unreliable.

yeah, i find that the more they affect with the buff, the more reliable it is....

just my lead team is running with these buffs-

Lycoris: +18% atk to 4 members
Helenium: +30% atk to 3 members
Iberis: 1.2 skill activation to all members (if max affection), +15% atk to everyone
Scotchbroom: same as Iberis
Sakura: +18% atk to everyone, 1.2 skill activation to all members (if max affection), +35% atk to everyone during raid bosses, everyone deals 5% more damage to bosses and raid bosses

so if someone is lucky and it's a raid boss (like the current event at the time), they'll get 131% atk, 1.6 times the skill activation rate (pretty much pushes it to no less than 35%) and deals 5% more damage with their attacks... and bonus points if it's a magic-weak raid boss

even then, they'll have no less than 82% atk increase.... looking at the opposite

and just remove 35% if it's not a raid boss so... 47%-96% atk at all times. and at the least, 2 members WILL get the max amount

can't wait til I can bloom my other 4.... looking at the wiki for the DMM version, the numbers get even more stupidly OP
