In this topic, I'll analyze the results of the March survey and open it up for discussion. There's quite a bit of data to go through so I'll do it in stages. In each stage I'll try to answer particular questions of interest to me and the community.

To start with, the survey attracted 67 respondents from Harem-Battle, Reddit, and Discord. These players varied in experience: 27% have been playing nearly since launch, 35% have been playing for 4-9 months, 15% for 1-3 months, 15% for 1-4 weeks, and 7% were new players. These players are very committed, probably moreso than typical players: 82% of respondents play multiple sessions a day.

These players have diverse goals:
52% prioritize clearing high-difficulty content.
52% prioritize spending as little money as possible.
50% prioritize efficiency (time-wise and/or resource-wise).
27% are collectors and/or porn connoisseurs.

The field is also split when it comes to how many elements they plan to invest in:
43% prefer to stick to 1-2 elements.
36% appear to be aiming for elemental advantage builds with 5-6 elements.
21% are evenly split, planning to play 3-4 elements. Perhaps some are aiming for an elemental advantage build for the 4 prime elements only?

Respondents seem to heavily skew towards "cashing", or being paying players. We know that free-to-play games are largely populated by free players, so this likely reflects a sample bias: the committed players who spend their time on game-related social media are probably more likely to spend on their favorite game. But while the results are biased, that doesn't mean they aren't useful; players who read community guides, for example, are more likely to belong to this sub-population.
42% are free players
9% spend or plan to spend less than 900 Nutaku Gold/month
24% spend between 900-1600 Nutaku Gold/month
18% spend between 1600-6600 Nutaku Gold/month
6% spend more than 6600 Nutaku Gold/month. These fall into what is typically termed the "whale" category.

Paying players almost universally buy or consider buying Miracle tickets. SSR Kamihime Gatcha and Limited-time SSR Kamihime promotions are also very popular. Note that the questions involving money were phrased to include people who haven't spent money yet, but are likely to.
95% buy Miracle tickets
63% roll SSR Kamihime Gatcha (1 SSR kamihime guaranteed)
55% would spend to acquire Limited Kamihime
42% roll the SSR Eidolon Gatcha

And that's it for today's round of analyses. Feel free to chime in with your own reactions, impressions, and questions.

It's not surprising to see that people are likely to spend on the game, after all people around here (or discord) are people that are invested enough into the game that they plan to play it on the long run, therefore, it becomes easier to justify spending money on it.

That being said, I'd like to see if these "porn colelctors" are planning to keep playing the game for the long run or they will just get bored of it and move to the next H title.

Nice analysis, btw. I'd like to see more of this on a future date.

personally, i'd fall under the following:

-wants to clear high-level content
-wants to be efficient
-wants to collect every scene i can get (won't go hunting after every kamihime though)
-wants to get elemental advantage on all 6 elements (only focusing on 2 at a time right now though to lead me through the grind)
-not sure how much i spend a month (but definitely averages past 6k a month)
-played since pre-launch (it's how i got a copy of echidna)
-grabs every miracle ticket and SSR guaranteed that I can (cause RNG is a pain at times and I'd like to lower the chances of it screwing me)

Hmm... To be honest, for so many variables to account for (e.g. goals, we've already got 4), statistically speaking I don't believe 67 respondents is a large enough sample size to reflect the accuracy of these results. That said, I'm not sure how many people are actually active in these 3 platforms so I can't comment on the feasibility of the survey, but good work nonetheless :bgrin:

The sample is 100% accurate at representing itself. Whether this can be extrapolated to some larger population is your concern. That's hard to say without knowing what % of visitors to this forum, for example, took the survey. For my purposes, I'm primarily interested in the characteristics of visitors to my guide, and the sample should be highly representative of that.

@sana,

with respect to your guide, i would like to know more about:

1. tips and hints on how to spend gold
2. accessories and optimized way to gear for them
2. expand on souls and when each soul can be useful. is solomon still the worst soul ever?

I have a rough cashing priority in my guide. Depending on what you have in mind, I may not be able to help. For example, without knowing the rates in the various revolving promotions, any advice I could offer would be pure speculation. As a rule of thumb, if I don't understand what I'm buying, I probably shouldn't buy it.

I've roughly listed the accessory buffs in order from highest to lowest preference in my guide. I have an Accessory Comparison Calculator for comparing combinations of rarity tiers and buffs, and an Accessory Enhancement Calculator for determining optimal leveling strategies (along with a few of my favorite recipes). It's not plug-and-play, but the tools to figure it out are there at least. I'll think about expanding the section and not leaving so much up to the imagination. I have a few other priorities in the next few weeks though.

Exploring Souls is a sort of rabbit hole, as Soul choice is very build-dependent. Add in the Relic weapons and it becomes a complicated and highly subjective subject very quickly. Quite frankly, I'm not ready to tackle it at this point.
