What is the purpose of revival events if they don't drop any girl?

I got Cupid in the last revival event, and this time it's Hari, so they do drop. That said, I kicked the crap out of Grunt for the most time of this event, and he dropped Regine ans Miss Spook, but not Rabbi.

I got both girls to drop. It's just the same old crap drop rates as always - but it's another chance for those of us who missed them the first time around or didn't get the drops.

The girls will drop, but it simply takes an awful long time before they do. Keep in mind that, according to the devs, there's only a possible problem if you haven't had a girl drop on you within a month. And during events the drop rates are only slightly higher.

But that's just the thing: as you said yourself the main idea is to collect girls, so they're obviously not going to make that too easy.
