View Full Version : A little disappointed with supporting options.... Worth it? I dunno...

I've been playing Kamihime for well over a year now and I still enjoy myself. Now, sure, I do have my complaints and concerns. For example: I actually enjoy the storylines in the game (I even played through a whole Saturday evening to complete the last bit of the Whirlwind and Rotten relic (cost me plenty of elixer, good times!)). Yet unfortunately that's all there is.

And yes: I know that when it comes to gacha you take a chance. And if you buy starcoins you're even taking a chance with those (because they don't last as long as Nutaku gold). Shadey if you ask me.

Anyway, this evening I figured I'd support a bit and gave into the summer sale: one guaranteed kamihime gacha for 3k starcoins. What a disappointment  For starters I never ended up with a new kamihime, only disposable upgrade material. Explanation was simple: apparently I got the same release weapon as one I already got and as such I got a dragon eye in return.

Sure, I realize that this eye is also worth something. Sort off... You can get a rather worthless (IMO) holy grail demiurge which is pretty pointless if none of your souls wield arcane.

The problem is perception: "one kamihime guaranteed" and you end up with nothing. Knowing about gacha and actually having read the drop chances up front (82% chance of R droppings, even in the paid gachas, I admire their honesty but seriously...) I knew what I was getting myself into, but I can't say that I'm very much motivated anymore to continue and support this.

Heck: I even had better drops while using magic jewels (and some premium tickets) than I had here.

Now, this isn't just a whine post. Like I said: I knew what I got myself into, and my main motivation was simply to donate a bit after having played this game for such a long time ("credit where credits due"). But I do have some concerns. Surely this is going to tick off plenty of players?

And I know: you should wait for them to provide the magical ticket (or whatever its called) so that you can pick a eidolon of your own choice. Yah.. first issue: eidolon vs. kamihime. Second: you know it, I know it, but a regular players would not. And if they end up following my example in hopes of getting "something useful" while ending up with nothing then I really don't see how they'll ever going to donate / pay ever again. And that ladies and gentlemen would eventually hurt all of us in the longer run.

Because if you stop to think about it.. what is the use anyway? There is no end to the story, they just keep on adding new stuff when they see fit, there's no end to this whole thing one way or the other. "Pay to win" doesn't exist because you never win anything, there will always be something more.

So why bother in the first place?

I have a guide section (Cashing guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/19K_dU3rCief_ajPGS9YBuVdxXBYFyCGGXAxYYyK0jzg/edit#heading=h.8vpmc9q68v04)) for new players devoted to what to spend money on. In my opinion, this together with the Rerolling Guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/19K_dU3rCief_ajPGS9YBuVdxXBYFyCGGXAxYYyK0jzg/edit#heading=h.bkfnmrchpxxo) are must-reads for any new players intending to invest time and money in this game.

I afk'd this game for about 1 month and then came back and here I am, grinding Advent missions for these sweet Fire weapons I'm not gonna get elsewhere for almost 1 whole year.

If you're into gachas, I'd recommend you to try another one and get a new, fresh view on things. It's quite easy to get burnt out on anything, really... so don't just quite give up that easily.
