Entry cost: 2 credits per ticket
Entry limit: 10 per user.

Winners are chosen by a random draw on Wednesday afternoon.

Participation requirements:
-Have a forum account
-Have earned credits from posting activity within HBC forums

How to enter:
-Entry only possible after start date has passed
-Click the link in the main area above to buy a ticket. It will show up in the large blank space above the "Rules" tab, underneath "Your Entries" count
-One entry may be purchased per minute

How to claim prizes:
-Winners will receive a PM informing them of the prize.
-Prize may be claimed by replying to the PM with a Nutaku ID and account name.
-Time to receive prize will be subject to processing time.
-7 day limit before prize expires. Please be sure to claim it on time.

How to earn credits:
-Posts are worth 1 credit each
-Threads are worth 2 credits each
-A (very) slight bonus is added based on word counts. Threads have a greater bonus.

This will be our basic contest. A total of 3,000 gold is available, with a maximum of 1,000 per winner on a weekly recurrence.

Can you explain more in detail how claiming it will work? Unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be an option to gift nutaku gold directly to others. Do you, the sponsor or whomever is doing it have the ability to do so?

Anywho, at 10 tickets, that is a 15% chance of getting one of the prizes.
That is the same as yoloing a gold or rainbow right now in fkg priority gacha.
Probably not with my luck, but is considerably high chance atm.

OKAY! so apparently there is some bug with the auto PMing feature of this mod. It keeps sending out more mails, even long after the draw has already been made, and to people that were not chosen as winners. Some people got it multiple times.

The only truly "fair" thing I could do is forbid people from winning twice before everyone else gets a chance to win. But I have no way to prevent past winners from entering again at this time.
Although I can probably do this by adding winners into a new usergroup and not give them permission to enter until I do a reset.

Maybe I could just do a second raffle for this kind of purpose instead. But muh wallet.

Chance of winning is then 1 - chance of failing all 3 pulls with 10 tickets
or
1 - [ ( 110 / 120) * (109 / 119) * (108/118) ] which still equals about a 23% chance.... but your reason is wrong D:

I'm sorry but that is not how the numbers work.....

It is a 10 in 120 chance, followed by a 10 in 119 chance, followed by a 10 in 118 chance....--As far as I can tell a single person can't win the same raffle twice. The other assumption I made is that everyone will have 10 tickets.

Henceforth, 10 tickets / 120 total tickets, somebody wins that's not you, 10 tickets out of / 110 tickets, etc. So in short, 1/12+1/11+1/10. I stand by my ~25% chance until I see somebody win two raffle awards some week.
EDIT: If you really want to complain about something mathematic, point out that 1/12+1/11+1/10 is not actually 25%. Which would be very true. But I never said it was exactly that~

Technically you both are right - one side assumes everyone uses 10 tickets and that if you were chosen already your other tickets aren't used anymore - the other side goes by minimalistic assumption that everyone else than us use 1 ticket or that one person can win multiple times on single raffle.

Both of you forgot thou that my luck in such things reduces your calculated win chances down by like a factor of 10 at least ^_^
