Girls level and stars or only stars to max out?

I'm new here and my question is, is it worthwhile to maximize the girls to level 400 or just maximize the stars?

Just stars for moneymakers. Level and stars for those you use in battle. Stars increase money gain - while it cost a lot to upgrade them, eventually you get your money back. Prioritize girls with 5max stars over 3max stars as higher levels have better price/return ratios.

Level of your girls (all girl's levels combined) increase your max HP, but it's not much - I got 50HP from adding 320 levels to count. It's worth doing once you have ton of books and nothing else to do.
