. . . you can use Hans to elite boost other tanks? I am regret using prior Hans towards Hans's 20% elite boost.

It's interesting being limited to the use of lights and artillery. I could see emblem/training maps doing something like this. I'll swap my few armor emblems onto my lights, but none of them are really up for tanking since I just enhanced Lid. Evasion melts against those 100% accuracy skills. Also there are no lights or artillery with 100% accuracy skills to my knowledge, so wraiths are going to hurt. The 30 emblem fragment rewards aren't going to stack up to a week's worth of emblem maps or a third of an emblem, so Hans is effectively the event reward. With luck I'll be able to get 9 or 10 Hans to put on Eliza.

    Edit:

    Welp. Seven Hans.

I do like the general event format, but really? Fuck that noise. I'd strongly suggest anyone who hasn't started the event to wait and grind up your lights, then play after refreshing the game since a month is a long time and this event is apparently designed to kick you in the balls and then light you on fire.

I haven't done much in the event (just one wave so far) because I'm levelling up my light tanks and arties first (far as I know, there's no daily free auto reset so there's no rush to do it immediately)

Light tanks + Arties against armoured train with all those accuracy enemies seems an awfully brutal trial though.

Still, 500 cores to reset to get 5 Han's on average (more if you're better) is probably a better deal for eliting a 5-star tank than spinning the premium gacha for them (around 1.6k or so cores on average per 5 star tank if there's no increased rate event going on vs around 1k cores to get 10 Hans, though you won't drown in gobs of 4-star girls), and that's before taking into account being able to CHOOSE what 5-star to boost up as opposed to completely random.

Maybe, but I've never been in a position where it seemed like a good idea to spend cores on the gacha. I could see doing it to get tanks set to level early game. Having event tanks in the gacha or the loyalty reward would be incentive. Even the last factory slot seems like a better long term investment for generating blueprints, and you need 3000 spare blueprints to elite a single five star. Otherwise spend cores in events where you need to get the last tier of rewards or some emblems. I'm not saying you're wrong but that is a looooong term concern. I still have a dozen event tanks I can't elite for lack of BP, so I'll pass on resetting. When it comes around again maybe I'll be in a better position to get something for those cores.

Yes, the fact that you can't try again a battle lost does make important to take your time and level up your team before trying what might be your highest level.

For how to spend cores, I personally use them allmost only at the end of events to get the event's tanks.

So having this event for over a month is a lot like having no event for a month, and then having this event for a week.

Well, it depends on the way you do it. I usually do the first few waves on the beginning, tweak my team a bit depending on what I learn from the first battles. When I began to take too much casualties and fear of losing a battle I switch to leveling the team.
Then for two weeks I do my dailys battles only with that team, which in itself I consider a part of the event as it's a very unusual team.
And in the last week I go back to go as far as I can in the waves.

True it's less intensive than other events, but it's far less grindy and I like that.

It's a little too late for this one (well, there's still one more day), but just so you're all aware for the next cargo train event, you CAN try again as long as you DIE to an armoured train. If you reset out by like, refreshing your browser or force closing the app, the battle dissappears. At least in my experience (tested a few times... not willingly, mind you. Argh...)

Maybe this is their solution to people trying to avoid repair bills on losing battles.

Ah, now that this event is over, I have a whole bunch of level 30+ light and arty tanks (that started this event at like, level 5) that I won't be using again until the next cargo event, lol. Saved up expedition maps + exp boosters levels pretty fast (relatively at least for this game)

Thanks to this event, I finally got to elite my chieftan and AMX (started at 10% boost for each) for the "low" cost of 1.5k cores (and a bunch of level 30 arties and light tanks that will now sit in the reserves). I've been whaling the gacha for so long trying to elite those two (and ended up with a lot of other 20% boost 5* tanks that I never had before in the process). Whew.

The battle also disappears if you leave afterwards to wait out repairs. Whatever their reasons it lands somewhere between petty and spiteful game design. Locking the retry for a day, having a five or ten core retry cost, or using the expedition damage system would have done.

I'm just going to hold out for an event where I can get some emblems. Leveling did nothing to help me progress in this event. I guess I'll need to level some defense tanks in other classes in case this ever shows up again. It's like this event will never end! Like a ghost event. Woo.

Wow, I didn't know the game even bothered differentiating between leaving a battle (via the leave option where you still need to deal with repairs for any casualties) and dying. ...that seems kinda pointless of it and I don't really see any purpose to that. :O
