So during normal battle you just scratch the enemy and when you are lucky you just one-shot him? Seems strange.
There are 3 types of hits that can occur; normal, critical and "failed". Failed is what happens if a hit is a lot less than expected (you can see this at random too, you do almost nothing when it happens). If you win a fight with the gap being too large, the enemy will have mostly failed hits and you get mostly criticals (regardless of the side of the gap you're on, interestingly enough).

Interesting, never noticed "failed" before when I was watching through animations and lately I just start a battle and click Challenge again to just view the results (if cash or rank increased, I won).

Maybe I am missing something, but I still can't imagine how you managed to complete event with 40k girl. How many tries it took on average to win battle with lower stats? I am trying with my 108k/57k/21k girl against 100k one and results are almost always in the same range - I am at 50-55% when enemy wins. Tried it for 6 times today, not that many but there could have been at least some variation in result unless I was correct and that formula actually means the critical win (when if you don't throw lucky 20 you always miserably lose and only if you throw 20 you suddenly win, with no intermediate results, like getting to 95% before losing or something).

Also about the thing that each level doubles the requirements on skills - just finished 34 Body building after a week of waiting, next one is 13 days (35 Body Building), so it's almost double still. What's your total speed on main account btw? Mine is at 33k now and it requires two weeks to double it by playing every day. Then I will need a month to double it again. I don't mind the waiting (playing Crush Crush for longer than a year and still far from final few girls), but it is interesting to know at what range of Speed I need to be to get to final girl (roughly).
