Yes the neon takes a lot to upgrade, but I think my increase in share comes principally from the other decorations which are far easier to upgrade.
I just checked and once I get to the next upgrade for the main girl at the end of the run I'll get a ~15% share increase per run for time basically and this doesn't come from the neon but everything else I upgrade along the way, and it'll be the roughly the same when I hit the the next one, so it's still a nice increase. At this rate I need to hit 5 upgrades to double the shares I get.
Then again it's probably getting slower to upgrade but still, coupling with the occasional neon upgrade and multiplier increase which speeds things up it's a nice progression.

And this way I progress faster in the tournament too, I get better rewards sooner than if I did a long stock market run so there's that too ^^

Anyway, I'll keep you updated on my progress x)
