How odd. For me, it seems to play faster and have more detail. There are a few places where you have to click more buttons but it seemed pretty intuitive to get into the menus and make things work. I like it overall.

I still have sound issues. With sonds playing randomly. Like Pickerel Weed's skill sound when I level up her. Or explosion sound playing during missions. During ALL the mission. And Whaleship bosses don't have animation. It's... sad. Poor bosses.
But I guess it's fine. Even with some design flaws, it's still pleasant to play and intuitive for almost everyting, even for non japanese players.

I'm not sure why but I can play with max settings on Chrome with minimal slowdown. If I try playing this on Firefox though, even on minimum settings, the game is a slog and a lot of the character graphics are blurry (especially Eryngii's fourth unique garden animation where it looks like her cardboard box is censored).

Chrome works good for me and is much, much faster.
Finally got that flash drag off my PC so I don't have to use Puffin anymore. (It still works good though too)
Checked those new RGs, cant use any of them, but Rosemary looks good for those so inclined.

For me Chrome and Firefox work the same performance-wise.
Between them some animations look different, but that's about it.

Maybe some browser plugins are getting in your way?

It's highly likely but as long as one of the two browsers is working fine I'm not bothered. Plus, this way I can use Firefox to browse stuff like the JP wiki while running stages in-game on Chrome.

Turn the refresh rate from your monitors down to 60Hz if the game is too fast. Worked for me after I found this thread where 2 people have issues with the game being too fast:
