I'm not much of a gambler, so I wouldn't go in on gacha or pachinko. What I do spend on most, and most consistently, are monster gems at Osawari Island, which guarantee the capture of any character you encounter and defeat. I would be interested in buying kobans for something like that. This would probably silence, or at least muffle, a lot of the complaints about drop rates.

But as long as there's sneaky shakedown shit like the money collection convenience fee, I wouldn't recommend anyone pay for more kobans than they intend to spend immediately.

100% gems for monsters are completely the same as the 900 kobans pulls from gatcha. It guarantees a girl. Ofcourse you cannot chose what girl you want, but that might be something in the future. As for now, they're alike apart of the chosing. And even if you wouldn't get a girl drop by hunting. OI has a far higher chance of their girls to be captured, but in regards of that HH gives you more turns to capture. Keep on seeing this game futher and give hints for them to improve

Their free gacha rates have been good to me, true. But using a monster gem to get them feels more like a natural extension to the gameplay, and not just a shameless revenue-enhancing device.

I haven't complained about the girl drop rates because I assumed it was due to the limited number so far, just like I assumed the pace-shattering tedium of the stamina crawl was due to limited content, and that both would improve as the game expands.
