I have 73 girls as well. I have to be selective about which ones to add affection to. I've always tried to get new girls that have come out with the events, but I'm rethinking that approach. I'd hate to get a new girl now that I actually wanted to use.
The problem is in the sunk cost. If I were to play fairly aggressively, collecting 8 times a day, from a girl that gave $1500, (pretty average), for 365 days a year, I would have gotten 4.38 million. Now, there is no way I'll see that much, but suppose I did. The cheapest cost of affection per game dollar is legendary lingerie at $417 per point. I have my 70th girl at 2 stars and to get her the third would require 10,645 affection. Some might be free, but not all will be in it's cheapest form, so I'll just use that cost. So it will cost me 4.44 million just in affection for that one. If I'm crazy about collecting, I just might recoup that in a year, but that isn't the whole cost of the upgrade.
Now I have to look at how many years it will realistically take in collections for the girl to pay for the upgrades I put on her. With cash becoming tight in the game, it becomes a poor use of resources to pay for affection and for the upgrades. You just have to decide how much a loss you want to accept.
If you think this is a good deal, let me sell you an annuity that pays back it's purchase price at twice your life expectancy.
It's the good deal in the way that girls are not banks: the main reward to update them is their upgraded poses and affections scenes.
Improved money is a nice addition.
If you're not interrested in their other poses and affections scenes, you might find yourself better not to upgrade them (unless you wanna do PvP, in which case I suppose upgrading them becomes mandatory sooner or later.
Not point upgrading affection on girls unless they are the 3 on your team. With the new rules there is a point to leveling all of them especially is there is a contest that rewards it.
It would be nice to reach 3 or 5 stars but it isn't as if you can't see the pictures on the wiki.
With the move away from using points in the arena where affection items drop pretty often leveling up affection has become a huge pile of suck.
Also being pushed to fight bosses, well I want to avoid getting girl at least until I get the 1 boss girl per level as I figure those will go to 5 star quicker and I don't want the costs to spiral completely out of control. So much for that idea unless I stick with the lowest one [I got all his girls] and even then with events he will drop, or go PvP which gets me nothing as I understand it.
I'm sure you already have people playing who could are less about game play. The new changes won't affect them in the slightest. I can understand playing the game from the perspective of a collector. They want all the girls and all the scenes. The only thing this player needs to know about the game system is how to get the next girl. That is valid approach and the cost is pretty much meaningless as the scenes are part of their main goal.
The players that I'm talking about are the ones who want to play the game AND enjoy the scenes. There have always been aspects of the game that were at crossed purposes. They are trying to fix the boss vs. PvP issue in this update, but I doubt it will touch the game vs collection disparity. They seem to want players do PvP and participate in contests. And people who are mostly collecting can do that, to an extent. I mean it is there. There is nothing to stop them from using those. But, unless they want to spend some rl money, they just won't do as well as the people who are playing the game.
I started off collecting the girls because it gave me lots of resources that helped me play the game. If I were starting now, I would not use that tactic. Not a fan of significant changes mid-stream in a game, btw.
I'm level 55, just got to Invaded Kingdom. With this new update I'm stuck at a constant 20/20 battle points without being able to use them, because I'm afraid of Gruntt or Ninja Spy or Dark Lord dropping another girl, making Samane (who I need for my Know-How team) more expensive later on.
Seriously? You're scared to drop girl just because you want to upgrade Samane easily? LOL!
Just play the game, dude. With time, you'll have well enough money to upgrade Samane.
Oh, good to know. But it's still pretty slow, and having to bank up affection items for weeks without knowing how many you will need kinda sucks. I had a good amount saved up but I didn't expect new 5 stars to come out and now I can't upgrade my new girls despite having 70M gold banked up.
