What did Patch 07/02/18 actually bring?

I am just really confused what their plan is:

trolls: it pretty much is a near-future loss for everyone that has to grind up the level and even at max level it is barely more profitable - only plus is that you do not really waste any combatitivty due to the 10h reload time. changes to droprate are purely positive, if I understand them correctly

Arena: no clue what the point of the arena changes is, but it literally is a random shitfest. sure it feels more competitive to not fight artifical generated enemies for 95% of the time, but everything reward-related is strictly worse than before. mojo is just super random as you only get mojo from enemies that are actually higher rank than you and you obviously can not choose who to fight. for pure-arena players it means less mojo as you 1. dont get a 100% win and 2. enemies dont always give mojo. XP gain was reduced drastically from 60-75 XP per 30 mins to 0-33 (depending on how many wins you get). the only plus side is that you get more money as you can fight trolls now. yes, you can use your combativity to go to the tower and fight for mojo-only there, but it will be an insane money loss - arena fights give XP, mojo and money, trolls money and tower fights only mojo
and generally you just lose out on a lot due to the fact that you have to check in every 30 mins instead of every 2h+

harem: changes to the harem basically only effect arena and the scaling formular includes negative square law which means it is terrible and not worth to spend much effort to level up girls after the initial easy-2-upgrade levels

to sum up: again a major change (PVP system) which was done badly. just like the affection upgrade with HH2.0 it only has negative effects for the players. the affection upgrade blew cost/affection, amout of affection needed and upgrade costs out of any relation and players who did not upgrade their harem before just got fucked. with the pvp system the XP gain got shafted and you can choose if you either want to lose a lot of mojo or money - if you chose the latter your outside-your-harem-income will be reduced to near 0 (i mean there is low incentive to go for mojo, but it still is simply worse then before)

EDIT: besides the fact that 'fight a troll' contests are pretty much a joke now as everyone is literally tied and whoever has the best timezone/earliest ID wins (besides the ones that hardcore cash for resets)

Totaly agree, don't understand what they're doing. Nobody benefits from that patch except maybe the dev's if the love to frustrate their players.
I used to make around 1,5 Million a day , now i dont even come close to 1 million. So less affection, with the already broken affection system....
(Abrael still wants 20 million for her 5th star).

Don't know what's the point anymore. So much money needed, yet they decrease my income with every patch.

Not to mention that some point in time they nerfed the equipment for whatever reason I cannot even fathom and even the appearance rate of epic and legendary items in the shop. I guess it's partially a moot point, as mostly the legendary/epic items were always for kobans anyway and add to that fact that you make less money now to buy items even if they did appear in the shop.

What the above says is true... If you were farming Finalmecia for cash, you'd make about 1.44M a day on average considering cash prizes of 18~22k per win. So 72x20k a day was a potential of 1.44M a day. Now you have 48 battles a day and even at level 200, Finalmecia gives 20.5k per win. So I estimate at level 260, she'll drop about 26.5k per win which only means about 1.272M a day max.

So, only using Finalmecia as an example, you lose 168k a day, which adds up to about 1.176M a week, and that's 61.152M a year potentially lost due to the new patch. So does anyone still think the new patch doesn't make you lose money compared to before?

The very little bit you make from PVP now might make up for it IF you could log in every 30 minutes, but that really isn't feasible for someone who actually works AND sleeps and who doesn't just "no-life" the game. Since the patch, I've been getting about 10~12 PVP battles done a day, on average. This might net me 25~40k more a day, at the most. You can't use PVP as an example of steady income because whether you win cash or not is totally random. I'm not complaining about PVP, because PVP for me is unimportant, but at least now you actually can PVP some, as before you had to either PVP or do Boss Battles. But the income gained from PVP does not make up for the total potential income lost.

The affection items dropped in PVP does not make a major impact either. I'm adding ~50 to ~100 affection, on average per day, from items won from PVP, which doesn't make any significant difference while trying to level a girl's affection to max.

Some people have been talking like the income AND affection items gained from PVP are a big deal and somehow equal out everything that has changed. I just don't see it...

I also don't understand while people even see PVP, on a whole, as valid. Since I've been playing, I've seen several times where the stat cap has been changed in the shop. Those that maxed stats early on, or have been doing so all along, will have potentially greater stats that those that are starting out will ever be able to reach. The equipment change will eventually take care of itself (maybe) as you're able to get much higher level equipment. That doesn't go for those that are extremely high level now and had level 350 to 400 equipment already before the stat nerf. Your equipment will NEVER have as high stats that theirs does.

At least we will see if this Wednesday they do actually reverse the "rare items in the shop change" they tried to sneak in the patch.

Forgot to add, the patch did change battle history for boss drops on girls to a per boss system instead of a global system. This way, if you're still working on obtaining girls from specific bosses, you don't lose your progress if you play an event and win a non-event girl from a boss you're not currently working on. (If that makes sense.) It's still a better system than the old way and is a welcome change.

Agreed on all fronts. I can only hope that the changes will end up being positive once the rest of the major patches have been pushed out, but at this point, the devs just seem to be floundering more and more with each push.

Patch brought me constant server issues 503 error or whatever. I can’t collect all the money from my harem (46 girls) without the server crashing and reloading and average of 4 times. (Record for 1 collecting session is 9).

Hmmm? Really? Most players were not crazy enough to do 72 battle per day. Only no-life people did that. Indeed, for these people, they make less money (but they can get a life and time to sleep instead, so maybe not a bad deal?)

Taking Finalmecia as an example, the threshold to know if you make more or less money than before is 63 battles: once Finalmecia is maxed, you make more money than before if you did 63 or less battle per day. If you use to do 64 battles or more per day, you lose some money, yes.

But given that 4 PvP victories equal more or less as much money as a victory on Finalmecia, even the most hardcore no-life players will have easy time to make more money.

Of course, the reasoning can be applied to any other boss: on the middle and long term, everyone should make more money than before. You just gonna be patient until boss levels are maxed.

    Also, for the other comments:
Girls drop rate has been raised a little bit and the bug that plagued the drop is no more: at least one player dropped 6 girls (including an event girl) from trolls since last wednesday.

The harem level bonus is just a first experimentation by the team. They will tweak the bonus step by step.

Other things that the OP didn't mention, purposely or not:
    - now you don't have to chose between fighting trolls and ToF: former PvP can now hunt for girls, and former girls' hunters can try themselves with the PvP. I think it's a massive benefit for the vast majority of players, who can diversify their gaming experience.
    - now you can have items from your daily missions. Even white equipment has more sale value than the yellow mission money rewards. And you can get plenty of rare affection items, which have buying value ranging from roughly 16,000 to 40,000. So, net benefit here as well.
    - epic books in store, although that one feature is not really changing anything in the game, imho.

Furthermore, as several persons highlighted already, this was only the first update of many. Latest intel on discord and the official forum talks about up to 8 updates, all more or less related to PvP and battle system, one release per week.
Most important among them are the addition of categories within the ToF and the league system.

Getting items from daily missions isn't new - that's been in for a long time.

False. Past level 100, players didn't get any items from daily missions since last summer.

You can't make a broad statement like that when cash prizes aren't guaranteed to be won in every PVP match. It takes me, on average, 9 to 12 PVP matches to gain 20~25k worth of winnings, well more than just 4 battles. If cash prizes of 5k were guaranteed for every win, it might be a different story, but that's not the case.

It's also still true that only no-life people will make more money now than before as they're the ones able to be active and participate in the most PVP matches per day. The change in the PVP system didn't change that fact. Unless you're a no-lifer, cash winnings from PVP still doesn't make a significant difference in your overall daily earnings. Besides, what was said was potential lost earnings, which was 100% true and can't be disputed by using the numbers. You're just pushing your opinion by saying that since most people didn't battle the 72 a day limit before the patch, it doesn't really matter anyway.

Personally, I'd rather get more sleep and lose less income by having a 10 hour recharge period over the old 3hr:20min one, but that wasn't the point. The change to the boss battle system should have kept the same potential, total earnings rather than lowering them. Why anyone is arguing against that point is beyond my comprehension. If you're actually happy with making less in the game now, so be it.
