If know-how is "paper", hardcore is "rock", and charm is "scissors"? Yeah, you're right... Let's see, though... In the screenshot in the patch notes for this upcoming change their choice of words is that:
hardcore pressures know-how
know-how surpasses charm
charm softens hardcore

So they're saying that... Know-how is beaten when presented with a new kink that it hasn't tried before. Charm is beaten when the more knowledgeable do the same thing as them but with superior technique. And hardcore is beaten when a charmer convinces them to drop the kink in favor of something more intimate.

... Honestly, I think the way they set it up the correct comparison is that hardcore is "scissors" and charm is "rock", not the other way around.
