We can very easily math out which stat is better, assuming the proposed values on the JP wiki are correct (particularly for Rush's increased double attack rate).

If Stinger gives you a % chance of doing +20% damage (otherwise known as critical damage), then the value of Stinger is %_Crit/5 (compare to Assault, which is usually +character_attack/2). For SLVL20 small, that's +2% overall damage.

If Rush increases double attack rate, then the value of Rush is approximately +%_dbl*(1-%skill_damage), as Rush contributes to normal attack damage and Burst damage (via more frequent Bursts), but not skill damage. I'd roughly weight this as +%_dbl/2 or +%_dbl/3, since you're typically going to be holding your Burst in tough battles. For SLVL20 small, that's +0.5% overall damage. Again, this assumes that Rush increases double attack rate as little as the JP wiki says it does.

In short, use Stinger if you'll have elemental advantage. Otherwise, use Rush. Assault will always be far better than either of these.

Seems some games are already getting their Black Friday stuff, hoping they make this years better than last years. I don't recall anything good from last years.

Couple of quick questions,

The eidolon from the current event, Houkei, gives 20% defense. How good is this and is it comparable to 40% single element damage (standard event eidolon)? Is this a decent eidolon or a really crappy one?

I’ve seen teams with 10-12k hitpoints; is it still recommended to do all assault weapons or is it better to have a couple of defender weapons in the grid these days. How are people getting that many hit points and should I change my grid layout to also up my hime’s hit points?

Q1: Good summon effect, passive is not worth, stats are ass. It's generally not worth to sacrifice dmg for just 20% def.

Q2: Dual skills. All hime weapons released starting from Snow Raphy start getting duals, so if you need stat sticks look for those. DO NOT drop assault for pure defender ever.

20% Def is far, FAR worse than 10% damage cut. Which is offered by stuff like Barong, Jack Frost etc.

If you for some reason need defensive options from your Eidolons, NEVER even consider the current event Eidolon for that. Go with elemental advantage and use one or two of those Eidolons instead - you'll take less damage (well technically the same but it stacks with other damage cuts) AND gain 40% Elemental Atk at the same time.
