When only 1 number is given, I can only think of that as the number in question, and that average team power is honestly quite a solid indicator of overall team power if given along with assault and defense modifiers. It's not perfect, but quite reliable. Your approach, on the other hand, actually has a fairly big flaw, it heavily overvalues the soul's stats. This means you're not accounting at all for accessories on kamis, the actual rarity of kamis (a bunch of SRs aren't going to compete well against a bunch of SSRs), nor do you know what type of weapons are in the grid and thus doesn't account for their type bonuses. For example, there's a real good chance that dark grids are running a bunch of axes (from UE), which would gives a huge boost to arthur/herc, but not to pluto/berith... etc. If the team had a couple of SRs as well, then that team would be significantly under performing if you just rely on the soul's exaggerated stats. Conversely, if you're running a bunch of SSRs that were decked out with good accessories and weapons that fits them, and then use Shingen to boost them, that team then would dramatically overperform those stats.
