That happens for pretty much everything, not just advent events actually. I think they calibrate the difficulties according to you upgrading your himes, weapons and eidolons simultaneously. Because raw stats, abilities and assault/elemental are all multiplicative - the difficulty spikes non-linearly as well.

AB-ing (no ability) is hard for experts and above, because abilities can make a huge difference in your dmg output, and the game is calibrated accordingly. Note that AAB (with ability) can do really stupid things like healing when everyone is at full health and cast ability dmg up AFTER casting all the abilities etc. My general rule of thumb is that if I can manually beat a certain level comfortably (no one dies except for freak accidents), then I can AAB one level BELOW with the same team. In your case, see if you can manually beat ultimate, if so, then try expert on AAB. Being able to AB on standard is not a good indicator that you can AAB on expert.

The current Python event actually makes it really hard to AAB for low damage and/or low hp teams because of how her triggers work - you need to cast all your debuffs after the nullifies are up but before the first OD to avoid party wipe. I play multiple accounts ranging from rank 30-80+, and while my 80+ account can AAB anything including ragnarok Python because she dies in 2-3 turns, my lower-ranked accounts can not AAB expert even though I can manually clear ultimate with them. What I did was manually clear the trash mobs, hit Python once so her nullifies are up, then AAB after that with all the debuffs ready to fire. When all her nullifies are down, she is actually a below average boss.

Python is almost over though. You will see similar difficulty spikes in the other events. However, since the next one is a raid, if you aren't aiming for MVP and stuff, you can AAB everything including rag and just let someone else clear the battle for you.

  2. Curious on what some people do with SSR event weapons. Do most use extra copies to limit break or do most save copies and limit break with bricks?

Others may disagree, but I think you should really save bricks for FLB-able hime weapons. Unless you whale a lot, bricks are extremely precious commodities and you don't want to spend it on something that may eventually be replaced.

For SSR event weapons, if it's a weapon that has long-term use (namely, it has assault or pride or FLB-able), I always MLB the 4 copies into one. If I get additional copies of it (e.g. for raid events, you can get extra copies from raid gacha) I use it for FLB slvl fodder unless I can get 4 extra copies (never happened to me but in theory can happen.) If I do get 4 extra copies, I would MLB those into one again. For UE, account for reprints before you fodder 3 copies of something.

If it does not have assault or pride, I usually do not LB it at all and just save them all for slvl fodder, depending on how bad it is. There may be instances where a high stat dual skill weapon may be good enough to replace an assault weapon, but for each assault weapon replaced, the relative value of assault goes up, so you basically never want more than 1 or 2 weapons without assault/pride generally.

For advents, I don't bother buying weapons that I don't intend to use (e.g. current Python defender gun.)

The only thing to add to the very sound advice above is that, if you're going to farm an SSR anyways to MLB, please don't use it for fodder. MLB the weapon and save it. You never know when it might get an FLB and/or you absolutely need just one more weapon to make a phantom grid.

In this case Phantom gun grids are pretty crappy (defender+) and this is another defender weapon so you may never actually want to make a phantom gun grid and you can think about foddering it. But in general, you should use SRs for fodder and save SSRs to help complement your grid.

And always always only brick Hime weapons that have assault and another skill. Those are final game weapons and are near impossible to get easily in any other way.

Remind me what Energy Release stats are better for filler. Shingen has four points left to take, and I've got 11 to give. Then I can focus more on Herc.

  6. Alright, thanks for the advice on that. Would you guys use bricks right away? Or do you guys wait till you have at least 3 bricks or less if you pull extra copies to MLB then FLB or do you guys just use the bricks whenever you get it? At the moment I only have 1 brick. Fire being my current strongest, the only FLB-able weapon I have that has assault is Ares's axe.

For Shingen assuming u already have atk+++, da, ta, both burst maxed out, i'd say 1 in crit if u don't already have, and the other 3 into def(at least one point in each). at least that's what i did. imo affliction, taunt, and hp isn't really worth on shingen. or u could always save up 4 more points to get "encourage inspiration"

Already have EI. I've maxed Atk+, DA, and TA, as well as maxed one Defense, one point into the other defense, and one point into crit. I though I'd heard that the Burst damage ones were very minor. Maybe I confused that with the Accessory effect...
So I should chuck the rest into Burst damage, and in the future undo some of those defense points and max out the Burst?

pretty much yea, the accessory burst effect is the useless one. but the energy release version if i recall correctly gives around 60% extra burst when maxed. (20% each lvl. so the 2 on shingen should add up to 120%)

    Thunder Team Help

Looking for ways to improve my Thunder Team:

    Current Team [Lead Eido: Kirin]
    Herc
    Baal U
    Tyr
    Raiko
    Athena

    Alt:
    Jupiter

Any SRs or SSRs I should be on the lookout for? Or if I should change my current team build?
