Actually, given that the collab advent event will still be running through this union event, once you've collected enough materials to limit break your hime a couple of times, go back to farming the advent. And don't forget to spend your BP on poking demons so you can pick up some enhance mats. You need to get stronger and climb up the difficulties until you can consistently clear ultimate. That's when one can really farm advents.

If you end up having materials leftover after both the raid gacha tickets and the weapon? You can skip the eidolon from this collab event. Get either half-elixirs, jewels, or the kamihime ticket (which will most likely be an R).
So I'm a bit confused by how the union event works. As a beginner, should my strategy just be poking any of the expert Lilim's that pop up on the raid screen? Does it matter if the raid was started by a union member or not? On a similar note, should I be spending all my BP on the lilim raids and ignore the standard disaster/ragnarok ones during this event?

step one - forget the raid screen for UE (for now) (unless ur UE is hardcore)
step two - ask your Union Leader for buffs (skip for now i guess)
step three - damage as much as possible every exp demon while event

    overall - just poke. yes.
    and yes, ignore
