Ah that's a shame, but I'm sure either of those 2 would easily do more damage than Raphael if you're using water weapons and a eidolon. Don't forget you have Shiva. She's a wrecking machine by herself. My 38k light team only has one offensive hime and it hasn't been a issue for me as they can clear pretty much all the content the game has given us so far. (Artemis, Belobog, Raphael and Amaterasu, who'se a fire hime I use for her healing/debuff).

anyways, im still too far from 38k attack (around 30k now), so still long way to go

So I've got a question regarding eidolon effects - so i know that you only get the eidolon effects of the main eidolon and the support eidolon, but do you need to summon the eidolons in order to gain the effects, or do they just trigger when they're ready to be summoned? Because I've not really noticed a difference in attack values one way or the other either after summoning them or not.

Only summon effects trigger when you summon, the main effects like "40% fire character attack" only applies from the first Eidolon in your party plus your friend's main effect.

Yeah, but when do those main effects proc? Do they just happen by equipping them?

Just by equipping them yes

Raphael is nice to have on hand for bosses with devastating Overdrives (like Ixion Ragnarok). I used her in my Wind team and Black Propaganda to stall the overdrives as long as possible. Sometimes utility is more important than damage, but it's situational.
