According to the JP wiki, you can get a max of 300 soul points from event item turn-ins total.

The main source of soul points is from rank increases.
But rank increases slow as you reach higher ranks, so the rate at which you'll acquire soul points will also diminish.
Determine which legendary spirit you want and use your points wisely on the prerequisite heroes.
Sources of soul points are listed below:
- Rank Up: 30P each
- Panel missions: 30P x 3
- Advent event turn-ins: 10P (max of 30x = 300P)
- Loot from Raid events
- Loot from Unison events
The general consensus is that snatch has a very small effect on drop rates that isn't noticeable, perhaps in the range of 1% per stack (e.g., a 1% drop rate on a rare item would increase to 1.05% with 5 stacks). A large-scale study would be necessary to demonstrate a statistically significant effect.

I find it hard to believe that's the cap across all events. I haven't looked at all events, but if any offer 300P, then it could refer to the maximum for those events. Some events have ladders with up to 220P awards on them instead of exchanges, so per-event maximums would be consistent with those amounts.

What you say about statistical spading required to verify is correct, that is why general consensus varies wildly based on conjecture and anecdotal evidence. Meaning there is no general consensus.

Could be. The Japanese line just says 30 times. But 300 points per event would allow easy unlocking of additional legendary heroes, and everything I've read on the JP wiki seems to contradict that (they say that unlocking a 3rd legendary is quite difficult). Keep in mind that, if soul point growth were static, each additional legendary unlock would get easier (because you'd have already purchased the novice and intermediate hero prerequisites in the course of unlocking previous legendaries).

most JP player have 4 digit of extra soul point.
probably most advise written about lack of soul point are refering to new player, because it definitely hard to get enough soul point fast to unlock many legendary, u need multiple event.
