    Phantom/Rainbow/Diabolos Unleashed Teams

    Alright sooooo...

I guess I would consider myself an intermediate player with a firm grasp on the basics. However, I have very little experience when it comes to using teams with Diabolos U. I know that the team is supposed to be composed of a soul and two kamihimes of the same element, and two kamihimes that are off-element to fulfill the requirement for the eidolon passive, but I have no other knowledge outside of this. Are there specific himes that I should look for or certain team builds that I should favor? Any advice/tips are welcome.

My current SSR roster is Marduk, Jupiter, Amaterasu, Poseidon, Takeminakata, Kali, and Satan (and Fodla for heals)

Weapon grids: Thunder >>> Wind > Light, Dark

The best advice I can give you is not to use a Diabolos UN team unless you are very, very strong, and from your SSRs, you certainly aren’t. Focussing on one element forms a far stronger team; having just one off-element e.g. Ryu-Oh for debuffs can reduce your total damage by around 20% (don’t quote me on that) and even more during bursts. Having two off-element means splitting your grid or risk having two members of your main team deal less damage, even if you do have the buff from Diab UN. Plus, if one of the off-element dies, I’m pretty sure you lose the buffs (at least the attack one).

As Kitty states, “Rainbow grids r dumb”. Read up on sanahtlig’s guide on why not to use Diabolos UN even as an intermediate player.

Similar to what 59 said, rainbow teams are really not viable unless you're far into the late game. Building a solo element team will also get you to late game faster than building rainbow will. Thaaaaaaat being said, rainbow teams are a ton of fun and I rerolled until I got a Diab U(plus 10 SSR hime) on an F2P alt account to try one out. Honestly speaking, my alt is mainly for healing my main in raids and unless you start with a ton of fairly useful SSR's like I did it's a terrible decision.

The next biggest issue is the weapon grid. You still need to focus on one element, but also provide a little for the other two elements, meaning all weps you use require double/triple skills (ex: light soul wep, 4 light, 2 wind, 3 fire). Regardless this splitting of the grid will result in a big drop in damage. This drop in dmg has to be dealt with using your choice of hime. To run a proper rainbow team you'll need at least Michael AW and Azazel AW(future content) to cover some of the drawbacks. Other hime with team wide buffs like Svarog AW and Haruhi(future content) are really good too.

Thanks for the responses. I kind of figured that rainbow teams would not be all that optimal since only 3 out of the 5 main team members would actually get the assault/defender bonuses, but I wanted to see if there was some way around it or if the extra damage from main element members would be enough to carry. Based on the comments, I guess there isn't. I'll probably continue to run a rainbow team for awhile since it is way better than all of my other teams (the account is only level 40 so the 1.25 mil burst from Take carries some fights), but I'll probably transition to wind once I get the himes for it.

Edit: Just checked and yes, Diabolos Unleashed buffs are removed when there are no longer 3 different elements on the field

If the SSR hime/eido you listed are the only 7 you have, might be a better idea to reroll for a different 100/140 eido. Only Marduk(after awakening) and Jupiter(after re-balance) will be useful for a long time compared to the rest.

As said, Rainbow teams are extreeeemely difficult to pull off. It can be done, even for newer players, but that doesn't mean that YOU can do it. Having options, options, options is key to Rainbow... and you simply don't have that. Like the best team that I can think of is Kali Satan on-element and Amaterasu... ... Marduk? For off-element. Not very impressive, but at least it gives you -45% Def -40% Atk once both are Awakened.

What? No. Absolutely no. Never do this. You go full weapons on the element that has three Units in it. The other there are there purely for support, NOT for damage. ... there can be exceptions, like Take's bonus doesn't give a shit about Grid when Bursting.

If the account isn't very old, can agree with this.
