I mean, certainly not on Nutaku. But on DMM, my wind team w/ phantom bow grid can have all girls hit 1.5M+ burst depending on the battle/debuffs.
off element is still 1M+
so it's definitely surprising to hear a veteran say that they can barely reach 1M on burst WITH a phantom grid... you don't give them enough credit. they're an insane boost depending on which one you have...
You have like, all the UE weps, not sure which team you're thinking about but it clearly isn't your best... I know you don't have any 100% eidolons either, tho... but eidolons aside, I was able to reach 2M+ on a soul burst without a phantom grid on Nutaku.
It depends heavily on element and what himes you have, too. Against rags (def 10, remember ult has lower def and easier to hit high numbers) I've hit 10m+ single target burst with my 46k power dark team using slime (long story, just accept that I use slime) and friend Anubis. I've yet to hit 10m+ single target for my 60k+ power light team, which is a FAR better team, even with double fluffy. The reason is that I have Agliarept for dark, and that separate critical multiplier when combined with Python staff's vigor can help you hit cap really quickly when you stack all your buffs in a single turn. Light teams don't have that kinda teamwide guaranteed critical and no good f2p SSR vigor weapons that I'm aware of (well, until guardians come out.)
Spike dmg isn't everything though, I use my light team to race in lrag not my dark team, 'cos consistent low burst still works better than one big burst with a much longer burst cycle (assuming top add is dead so I don't like die from just normal attacks.)
Congrats! Given that you have Belial, you're probably better off finishing your fire team first. Your light team is already very good, btw. If you have a mostly SSR grid, you can clear any GO with that without your own fluffy (I know 'cos I've literally cleared every GO with your team minus Arty, didn't have her back then.) You should also be able to AAB/close to AAB DUlt if you have a handful of FLB weapons including at least 2 UE staffs.
If you do mtix light for some reason, I would indeed go with Iris.

If you ask me, you should continue to boost your Fire team thanks to Belial. Your choices are Svarog (very high damage per turn), SSR Fire Amon (team burst accelerator + team buffer) or Vahagn (amazing DPS with a debuff, but needs to be at high health to be effective, making her less effective as a hard carry unlike Uriel and Svarog).They're NOT an insane boost. I said that already. They're decent, IF you can make them work. Yet again, Phantom weapons do not make or break Grids. They are simply a cherry at the top.
And you know, my teams, Accessories and Grids are public knowledge in my a pain in the ass to use advanced calculator.
I've been thinking for a long time and still don't get why Dian even finds a place in the selfish thunder team. Surely the objective is to keep health ABOVE maximum, instead of requiring healing? And for that matter, doesn't TAfro have heal + regen already? Wouldn't it just be better to put like an offensive (like Brahma) or Def down (like Nuwa) in?
There's also Regen + "Barrier" from Marduk. It just isn't enough, against content that matters.
Remember, it is IMPORTANT to be at FULL health. Vigor drops of HARSH if you go below 100% HP. Halfway point is... 83% HP left, I think? For a team of 15k HP, that means that once you've lost 2.5k HP, you've lost HALF of the advantage from Thunder Aphro. Which will then eat into other synergies like Pursuit from Marduk.
You also have to remember that if anyone gets triple-attacked, it's basically instant goodbye to ALL Vigor damage for that person. Marduk has Combo- which reduces that chance significantly, but for example I believe Water Olympia is outright debuff immune (like Wind Rag), so that's not going to help. But Dian is the only healer who has the solution to this - HP potions. Instantly recovers 50% of one person's health, the perfect counter to bad RNG.
